Web site up date
Submitted by redz on 16 March, 2008 - 21:20.Just a quick blog to let you bloggers know that we have up dated our web site
www.redz-racing.co.uk with a few pictures of the new car.
We had a great test day last week up in Blyton, this is a fantastic test venue with a tarmac stage, gravel stage and a skid pan, a full days training for £55.00, this is open to non-challenge people so would be good to see a few CMC crews next year.
Shane has bought himself a challenge spec peugeot 1.4 and will be competing in this year 205 challenge, good luck mate and thanks for dumping me !! LoL
Sweden
Submitted by redz on 13 February, 2008 - 00:20.I flew out to Sweden on Wednesday last week for 4 days of snowy petrol heaven, Shane and Neil picked me up in Elevrum which is about 1.5 hrs from Oslo international airport, I had booked a C class car which ended up being a WRC 1.6 diesel Nissan Note!! But hey what a great car it proved to be, with Shane and Neil in a 1 series beamer we had the best of both worlds.
Round Four
Submitted by redz on 14 August, 2007 - 23:13.Sorry for the delay in posting this report for round four.
I just could not be bothered to think about the rally let along do a write up and was on the brink of joining the Tom Ward cutting back crew.
Have now decided to get to the end of the season and review it then, we needed to score points at Swansea to stand any chance of not picking up the wooden spoon, but hey with only two events left this year, A Duth international event and sweet lamb we still have a chance of pulling ourselves back up the table.
Round Three
Submitted by redz on 28 June, 2007 - 22:26.I was looking forward to this event since our roll on it last year and when the time came we only lasted about 4 miles !!THAT WORKS OUT AT ABOUT £200 PER MILE !!!!
Round Two
Submitted by redz on 29 May, 2007 - 20:46.ROUND TWO TWYFORD WOOD. 27th May 2007
A very wet Twyford wood was the venue for round 2 of the Peugeot 205 challenge, having never been to the venue before but hearing loads of war stories about the place I just wanted to get going and going we did.
SS1 Nice and steady, picked up a puncture at the end of the stage dropping a bit of time.
SS2 Clipped a curb or hole which pushed us towards a small tree although no panel damaged somthing was not right and the car felt very unstable and noisy, ah punctured front and a broken/lost
Round one
Submitted by redz on 15 May, 2007 - 22:27.15th April 2007
Well we got of to a bad start at Driffield !! At the start line we were warned of the dust into the chicane along the back straight, umm to much speed to much dust, missed my braking point, the back of the car stepped out and we nudged the hay bail side ways, no big problem it had happened to lots of other crews, but when reversing in the dust I managed to whack a sturdy sign post causing quite a bit of panel damage, Then straight into a long sweeping right hand bend the car spun 180 and stalled dropping loads of time.
The tour of Caerwent
Submitted by redz on 31 March, 2007 - 11:07.84 cars entered the rally but sadly only 41 managed to finish. The event lived up to its reputation as a bit of a car breaker with 8 stages cover 80 miles we knew we were in for a long hard days rallying, but what a great venue a bit like a massive west Rayham with tight single track, good quality tarmac roads, deadly kerbs, hundreds of derelict buildings, old ammo bungers and railway lines. This was going to be a very technical rally with lots of braking and low gear shifting on every 90 turn and there were hundreds of them.
speedy hire stages
Submitted by redz on 6 March, 2007 - 23:50.Event Report, first real tarmac test of the year !!
Had a cracking day on the speedy hire stages at Rockingham yesterday, Darky pulled a few strings and got Tudor Jenkins to sit in with me for the whole day, From the outset we agreed to not look at times and use the complete day as a test session.
Stage 1 was dry, stage 2 was cancelled due to a non challenge pug crashing in the tunnel at the stage start, then the heavens opened and it poured down all day, to Tudor’s delight!! That’s it boyo, just what we want.
