Rover 214 Stage Rally Car for sale

As much as it pains me to do this, but due to lack of use I fear I must admit defeat and try to sell Ratty on.

He was built by The Rover centre in 2008 and used for Endurance Rallies with the Turners.

He was then purchased by the late Paul Ashmore in 2010 and made into Rally First Stage spec, competing in many events with Tom Ward as Co-Driver.

In 2012 he was sold on to Derek Rogers, who campained him in various events from Gymkhanas to Stage Rallies.

Finally I aqquired him last June, but only managed to attend a Single Gymkhana with Bart Lang behind the wheel and myself Nav'ing.

He is Ready to use and always starts first time when I need to move him, sometimes he has a little run to work to stretch his tyres!

There are the usual battle scars as you would expect from a well used competition car, so will not win a concourse event but however is very usable from a 12 car through to a Stage Rally with new In-Date belts.

He is a standard 1.4 K Series Rover 214, fitted with a Superchip (approx 110-115bhp) and coming complete with:

Bolt in 6 point Roll cage and front strut brace.

Sparco V-Sprint bucket seats dated until 2017.

Trs 5 point Harnesses which are out of date, but usable on anything up to Enduro's.

Brantz International Pro Timer and Stopwatch, with remote buttons.

Nav footrest, Helmet net, Spare wheel restaint and Co-driver door map book net.

Onboard fitted and handheld Extinguishers providing all round safety in event of a fire.

Gaz Golds all Round, which are fully ajustable.

There are many spares which will be included, such as body panels (doors, bootlid and bonnet) mechanical spares (including a pair of front Gaz Golds) electrical spares (lights etc) and approximately 10 extra wheels and tyres in various usable states, 4 of which are part worn Yoko tarmac tyres good for another event or 2.

He is currently fitted with a set of Yokohama Road tyres which have done very little miles and are ideal for Road events and keeping for the Mot (which is due on the 9th April.)

There is some small patches of surface rust on the body and the sills have been plated in the past, however the shell is mostly very solid. There is a small repair needed on the bootlid hinge panel and it is holed by rust in two places, but it is not structural and could be plated over.

Could even be a source of parts for a re-shell into a later car or a project for a newcomer.

Looking for £1295 o.v.n.o as short MOT, If no sale is agreed I may mothball him for a year or two and then re-use when my finances are better.

Darryl. :-(

Rover 214 stage rally car

Rover 214 stage rally car with lots of spares and wheels and tyres.

Motorsport UK logbooked, eligible for Rally First, Endurance Road Rallies, road rallies, targa rallies, stage rallies etc.

Professionally built by The Rover Centre of St. Albans, logbooked in 2010, their setup info included.

Specification:

Standard engine and box except for a Superchip for Rally First.

Gaz coilovers all round, fronts recently rebuilt. Standard brakes with Mintex 1155 pads and an MG X-power back box, producing a lovely rasp!

10mm dural sumpguard, tankguard, Fabricage rollcage, AFFF extinguishers, Sparco Sprint V seats bought in 2013 so well in date, TRS 5 point harnesses expired end of 2013 but still fine for everything except stage rallies, PIAA spotlights, Brantz tripmeter and Brantz rally clock.

Wheels and tyres (all 14 inch):

4 standard Rover alloys with near new Yokohama road tyres, good for using on the road and taking for the MOT!

4 rover steels with Kumho Ecsta trackday/tarmac tyres, quite worn.

Approx 6 steel wheels with gravel to standard road tyres on (various wear)

Spares package: (which I assume is still there!)

2 standard ECUs, Gaz front coilovers, standard rear shocks, spare/alternative springs, spare panels, steering column, 2 headlights, 1 rear light, 4 driveshafts, reconditioned alternator, starter motor, boxes of suspension and brake parts, spare belts, cables and bulbs and probably more! Cat currently removed and replaced with a straight through pipe, which will need to be refitted for the MOT.

The bodywork is less than perfect, the rear quarter has had a bash, replaced front wings and bumper but these are in a slightly different shade of white.

Great little rally car, capable of good class and overall results in many forms of rallying.

Price is £1295 As short MOT (9th April)

Would be an ideal start for a novice.
