Car eligibility Update, bought one.

Hi, I have just joined the club.  I am currently looking to buy something rear wheel drive to use for targa rallies. I have looked at the usual MR2 MX5 types, also Volvos.

My search went a little off piste and I am now looking at a Jago Jeep!  Im not really into kit cars, but it is mk1 Escort based, so has potential (apart from to ever look good)  So its based on a production car, but doesnt follow the original silouete.  Although it does follow the silouete of another production vehicle.   This is the bit where I am lost, if i was to buy it and improve the power and handling as you would if you where taking a proper mk1 into the lanes, can I use it?

I would like to do some of the bigger road rallies in the future when my co driver leaves school, but I do have a front drive Mitsubishi for 12cars and road rallies, so the Jago would not be needed for these.

Cheers, James.

Jago Jeep

If the V5 says Jago then it will be fine. If it says Ford that would be more problematic.  We've had mini scamps compete without eligibility problems.

Sorry  not to be able to give a more definite answer...
