Synopsis: The majority of people drive their cars in a region where the car responds
linearly to steering inputs, but for a competition driver the car is often
worked harder and the response of the car can become non-linear. If this
non-linearity is controlled in the correct way then a rally driver can use this to
their advantage. Lorna will cover Rally car set up, test, driver/ engineer
interaction and how engineering knowledge of a car can help. In addition
vehicle dynamics of the car, and how the behaviour and the understanding of that
behaviour can help the driver respond to and control the reactions of the car.
The presentation should provide a fascinating insight into how an engineering
understanding of what the vehicle is doing and how it behaves can help the
drivers perform - for Rally fans and Engineers alike.

That sounds like a very interesting evening. I'll definitely try to get along.
Sounds interesting for free !
Just heard from Ben today, he has been away since August, and he flys into Heathrow with his American tour cast the same day. But with shows over 10 weeks all around the UK, their first show is provisionally scheduled for the same place, Basildon Towngate Theatre on Sat 20th. Thats a bit spooky, maybe I should go along and just stay in the same seat for a few days.....
Just bringing this to the top.
I'm going who else is ?
Should be interesting.
I'm planning on going.
I aim to go as well.
Only 5 miles from the office.
