Good event at Goodwood, well

Good event at Goodwood, well organised and the stage diagrams didn't do the stages justice - fast and fun, though did feel like I was saying "chicane" all day.... Simon and Dave won their class, not sure where they finished overall. We finished 2nd in class and 27th overall, our class was won by a 1300 Micra kit car which we expected to win the class! Enjoyed it, pleased we went. Will send results when we get them. Our event nearly ended though on the first corner of the first stage in front of Andy Manston - a big spin and we both thought we were going backwards into the tyre wall....

Had a look at the NW results, unfortunately the Lewseys are listed as a retirement on SS1 with the reason as "fire."

Fire

Yes they made it as far as a hairpin on first stage when they stalled it and then got a bump start. But something caught fire in engine so they had to use hand held and in the end resorted to the plumbed system. And of course Dad didn't take his extinquisher refill bits with him!

but at least they unharmed and think they enjoyed spectating for a change

Fire

Handheld didn't seem too effective! Was it the petrol in the float chambers burning?
