Little Sister "Rallygirl", I have sort of been a bit busy in the last few weeks........ and thankyou for marshalling the midsummer, especially helping out setting up the Sculthorpe Tests, it was much apprecited by the rest of the team.
On the Essex Charity Stages, I will sort an entry out this week, once I decide which car to use, the blue one or the white one.
Well, only a few days ledt to go. Almost finished the Escort ready for its first Stage Rally. As always, everything takes 5 times as long as you expect. A big thanks to Mike Thomas for sorting all the small welding jobs, and tuning the engine to a much sweeter note. Seriously hope we can have a trouble free run following the maiden run on the Gymkhana where we had lots of small reliability problems. Will definatly be driving to complete the first stage rally in the Escort. Will spend most of the day trying to get used to rear wheel drive again, apologies in advance for the poor driving style, still can't get used to the rear wheel, having only just got the hang of the front wheel drive Nova.
Look forawrd to seeing everyone on the CMC stage, and look out for the Nova, its being "carefully" driven by Charlotte as one of the course cars.
I will be very careful in your Nova especially after seeing the size of some of the ditches tonight - i think 10mph will be the limit, for me at least!
After my previous disaters at predicting the weather, I can only say, it could be wet for this weekends Essex Stages.
Peter, after the last outing when both the Nova and Escort were out on the same day, they both returned home in need of much love and attention, so hopefully this time all will be OK. The Nova may even be packed with marshalls goodies again, as it was the last time you saw it.
As its been lent on a you bend, you mend basis, I can rest easy. If Charlotte bends, her mum sprayed it last time anyway, and her dad did some of the mechanical work, so its in safe hands....I hope. If its spotted going over 10 mph, let me know....
Ed i saw your Nova doing a lot more than 10 mph today
Thanks to the organisers, and all the marshals out in the wet and mud (never thought i would say that about the charity stages !!!)
Not a great day for us, 3 punctures robbed us of any result, but BIG thanks to Richard Nel David Earthy for servicing for us, getting, wet, and muddy looking after the Rover.
Now bloody knackered, but still bussing about the CMC stage, that straight, top enduro top spped
On behalf of WAC I would like to say a big thankyou to CMC marshal's. as without the 170 odd (not all CMC) we could not run the event. Yes it was a great long not too bumpy straight!!
As for the Nova - it is all in one bit. Thanks to Charlotte's careful driving?? or should I say Stan's handbreak turns?
Hope you all had a good days motor sport
Hopefully will be able to put our feet up after clear up tomorrow
Would like to back up that thanks to all Marshal's who did a great job!!
I have to say I thoroughly enjoyed being course car and would recomend it to anyone. Thanks to Ed for lending me the car and Dad for doing bits to it! I just need to clean it now before taking it back as its a funny brown colour!
I agree with Matt the straight on coney was excellent!
I am amazed at how much effort goes in to organising these events and after helping out wickford i think i will always apreciate events a bit more in future and not be quick to critisize!
I would like to say that being a virgin marshal at ES Thank you to Charlotte for giving me the opportunity, my fantastic mentors of the day Hugh (Hi gorgeous!(haha) and Alan, and also to the drivers and co drivers for being patient whilst I learnt the ropes.
We have now added another class - stage prepared enduro cars
