Cloverleaf - 12th August
18 April, 2007 - 14:42
WECC are running a new historic rally on the 12th August in the Cambridgeshire area:
http://cloverleaf.wecc.co.uk
It has just been included in this year's HRCR Clubmans championship.
There is also a parallel Clubmans's event for modern cars, although no other clubs have been invited - but WECC membership is only £10, and there is a £10 discount for entering before 1st June.

The event's getting close now.
Four CMC Historic crews already - thank you.
Of course, more would be welcome, and let's have some clubmans entries from those of you who don't have an MSA licence or historic car.
If you prefer to marshal - no problem. I'd love to use that East Anglia Sculthorpe airfield experience on the Cloverleaf Bassingbourn airfield.

Come on the CMC road rally crews - this event will have a great route, most of which will be new to the majority.
Paul,Dolly and I cant wait.
Dont let the threat of being beaten by pre-historic cars with old farts inside stop you entering. - I am sure it will be a really good event, well run, and properly PR'd.
Get those entries in asap!
Peter
could be i don't want to have to join another club, adds £20 onto the entry fee for a start.
i would be interested if suzi 2 is running again but it would mean a late entry as i haven't collected the engine yet.

well spotted Peter, I had not realised that was the case.
I wonder why the other bit is open to the AEMC and not the Clubmans - maybe they don't want the riff raff entering, also it is one way of boosting club funds!

Actually, the Clubmans entry fee is £90 + £20 (for WECC membership) instead of £110 for the Historic, so no difference. Cheaper if spouse/spouse enter as only one family membership of £10 is required.
ok i've saved £10 with the family thing, now for the other £10
surely it's better to get the punters in the event than increase the clubs membership?
i know it's only £10 but it's better in my pocket than yours.
we hope to be there in some fashion anyway

The finishing touches for West Essex Car Club's Cloverleaf Rallies on Sunday, August 12 are in progress.
This historic and clubmans daytime event is based at Granta Park just south of Cambridge and comprises 8 regularities, 4 singularities and 12 tests (8 at Bassingbourn airfield, 2 at Red Lodge Karting and 2 at Granta Park).
Marshals are still required (call Malcolm Heymer on 01362 854390) and there are entries available, particularly in the Clubmans class where your shopping car might welcome the opportunity to stretch its wheels.

Looking forward to this Crow.
Entry post today Crow, looking forward to a top 5 ( if we can crack the regularities better)
