Very good news, can't wait for the event
In the current rallying climate it makes a change to hear about a new event.... and new venue even more so....
Congrats to all at CMC !

And here I am thinking that the last gymkhana was organised for our enjoyment when really it was preparing the venue for something bigger!
i'm looking forword to the second outing for the new and improved chevette, now with added flat head!

after watching our teasers on the web site i,m concerned that ive got to find an in car radio for scrutineering to keep the flow of music undertaken by the recce crew ,4 weeks to go!!!!
chocolate cossy
i'm sure it would be acceptable if you just sang Tony, might even get you through scrutineering faster
in fact very fast

The soundtrack was about the only hing I was sure I couldn't get busted for broadcasting (since it comes with every copy of windows XP).
It was that or listen to the commentary.
Something like:
someones gonna hit that......... **** you could get a lick on here.......must remove that bush........
a,ha you remember my singing then pete. great lets hope i,m not singin in the rain
chocolate cossy
well knowing us ,the commentary may have helped as we,ll probably only make the first corner . as for hitting its an airfield theres nothing to hit only camacazy drivers

just looking at the entry list and there are some odd class allocations, 6r4 in D and a few similar.
my entry should have been received now so can i also ask how the passes will be dispatched as my co-driver is in Coventry, service person in Newbury and i will be in Koln i think and Michelle will be officiating in some capacity and travelling under her own steam.

Passes will be sent to nominated person on entry form. If you require anything more complicated, please advise the entries secretary of your requirements in due course and we will do our best to help you out.
Today I have spoken to Defence Estates regarding any potential foot and mouth disease issues at Woodbridge. Currently there are no problems and they are not anticipating any problems as there are no livestock on the airfield.

My thoughts are with the organisers and helpers who are setting up the airfield today. Tomorrow is a big day for the club - lets hope it all goes well. I cant wait to get started.
Good Luck to every one involved in the wood bridge stages. Hope the weather is kind and that every body has a great day, Im sure the organisers have done an excerlent job and that they have all worked realy hard to make this event a succes. Good luck to all the compeditors even those from other clubs.

What a fantastic event If they havent done so already everyone concerned with the putting on and running of this event should give them selves a massive pat on the back. Superb venue and perfectly run. It can only happen because of the army of organisers and marshalls. To you all on be half of the crew of car 57 we say a massive THANK YOU
On be half of car 61 can i say a massive thank you to all the organisers and marshalls for such a fab event! Just a shame we retired after stage 4 with a broken gear box as we where having a fab time!
Results on the Woodbridge Stages site
Commiserations to Rob Cameron & Tom Peddle who unfortunately tipped the Nova over whilst 14 th overall. They were a bit shaken but hopefully have no lasting personal damage.
Several CMC crews retired with mechanical woes - Ed Scott Diff, Kevin Jarvis engine mountings, Pete Morgan radiator, Richard Lewsey engine
I'm dead chuffed to have gained my first class win ( with Claire Abrey deputising in the left hand seat while TC "ran the show"). Tony Michael just got inside the top 20 with a 3rd i/c.
Ps Thanks to Spike, Christopher and all the Thames Gateway
College students who helped service and /or marshal. And big thanks too to all helpers, setting up teams and marshals.
BRING IT ON AGAIN NEXT YEAR
i wish i could write the same sort of praise as others, but with only half a lap under my belt i can't reall say a lot about the route, though i did enjoy what i did and managed to 'christen' the car with a shrub. i was looking at the temperature gauge quite intently (due to the quite large amount of steam that appeared to be coming out of the front) when Chris started making odd noises (other than his usual odd noises), there was a bit of a clatter and it turned out he was trying to say bush or shrub or something. now the pristine white paint has a green smear on it.
it looks like the radiator has split at the bottom and is pourous around the area of the pump pulley. again with hind sight i should have had it rebuilt. i'm now looking at alternatives as well as getting the current magnum/firenza one rebuilt. hopefully that will be the last of the teething troubles sorted. what can be said though is the bulkhead is very well sealed, i didn't get a whiff of antifreeze until we stopped in the finish tent.
on the subject of the tent, it was odd to see the world disappear in a cloud of white vapour, i'm sure they were appreciative of the warmth and lung cleansing steam, but if not i did boot Chris out so i could take the steam generator away as soon as possible.
what i will say is that despite the postal strike all my crowd had all the documentation they needed, there was plenty of room to lay out our kit and it was the roomiest service area i have been in. whilst driving the small amount i did, i got a feeling of a good variety of corners, perversly i liked the shrubbery. roll on next time.
just to add the icing on the cake i poured the remains of some fuel into the scooby (my focus is in the garage and in any case i want shot of it before a cam belt change is necessary (about 2000 miles) and it promptly poured out of the fuel filler again, my attempt at a highly skilled repair failed so Michelle had to take me to southend airport on Tuesday and will hopefully be picking me up on Friday.
if anyone wants to take on this 'project' (the scooby)it has 12 months mot, air con that may or may not work when it's gassed up (£60 for a can off ebay) and is ideal as a chase car or main tow car. £50 and it's yours (if you want the tax it's another £60). a new fuel filler pipe is around £200, i'm sure some form of rubber pipe could be rigged up to sort the issue out, i just don't have the time since i need something to get me to work and I'm in Germany for the rest of the month. be quick if your interested i want shot of it (or at least it's future decided) this weekend or next at the latest.

For those who do not have access to the British Rally Forum, here are some of the quotes that have been posted.
I am glad you all enjoyed it so much, it makes all the hard work worthwhile.
I would like to say my personal extreemly big thanks to all those who worked so hard to realise our vision for the rally.
Tony Clements, Clerk of the Course.
Just a quick note to say how much we enjoyed The Woodbridge Stages. It was a super venue and a very well organised event. Congratulations are due to all of the organising team.
Best wishes, Chris Middleton. Lace Rescue.
Congratulations to you and the rest of the crew good day well run I look fwd to the next one, regards to all involved THANKS Brian Birkin
Hi
I would just like to thank you for an excellent rally. The new venue was superb, organisation fantastic and I could not believe my wife knew the results from the website before I got home!
Thank you to everyone involved.
Kind regards
Steve Tilburn
Would you please pass on my thanks to all your team for a truly enjoyable event. I know how much effort goes into making a rally happen, it is much appreciated. If you run it again - don't try and fix it - It Ain't Broke!
Same again please.
Best Regards
Garry (car 33)
Well done Gary and team. What a fantastic event.
Do put another event on again next year.

RE: _ EVENT
1ST CLASS
WELL RUN
WELL ORGANISED
Thanks car 12
EXCELLENT venue very well ran!!! Can say nothing bad about it whatsoever.
Great day out..........
Just like to thank everyone involved for organising a fantastic event. Thoroughly enjoyed the varied stages and great to take part in a rally that was based on an airfield but did not just blast up and down the runways! Once again to all the marshal’s, time keepers and everyone involved in setting up the stages thanks from Paul and myself for all your efforts.
Gary Le Coadou
Have to echo the above comments.
Venue was excellent - extremely varied for an airfield type event with plenty of corners - not all of them 90s. Nice to have some narrow sections through the trees as well as some fast bits.
We still managed 9th overall.
Organisation was also superb - not big gaps between stages - just right in terms of times which suited us as it was just the driver and myself doing the servicing on the car.
Only issue we had was having to pass so many cars (due to our seeding) but that all looks good on the Incar camera anyway so not a problem
Thanks for all the marshals and everyone involved in the organisation.
Thanks

Co driver - car 56 - Mitsubishi Evo 3
Excellent event, really enjoyed it. Many, many thanks to the organisers, marshal’s and competitors. Will definitely be entering again next time it's ran.
What at spot on place! Had a great day, my old sierra held together, only had one spin! [Got the camera man running for cover!!] It was well run, even the timekeepers where smiling
Very well on tyres, I took loads and did not need them! Came home 3 o/a, so not bad for an old 2wd sierra!
Cheers,
Richard Upton
Fantastic event well run and probably the best airfield event we have ever done
Any pictures of car 1 Mr Manston...
What a fab event! We had caught a few cars during the morning, after stage 4 we had gone from 61 to 20. Just a shame the gearbox went after that! Thanks to all the organisers and marshal’s for a cracking day
What a great venue, that was well organised and everyone I spoke to thought the day also said the stages were great. One of the best Single Venues I have been to in a long time.
I found the stages really flowed in both directions.
Well done to all organisers and thanks to all the marshal’s.
Definitely see you again next year.
Well done to the organisers and to Hutton Kitchens for putting on a fabulous event. I was sorry not to be out there competing, as this is a cracking venue but still had a great day marshalling.
And thanks to the rally crew for keeping us entertained at the split. And for not knocking down too many cones you were very well behaved. There were many good battles between crew and luckily not too many cars were damaged throughout the day, a couple of wheels off and one car rolled. Thankfully the crew were fine.

Brilliant event! even when I'm stuck servicing! (Not that I’m complaining) Thanks to all marshals and organisers that put this together, looking forward to the pictures, so please post the link!
Incar video of stage 8
http://www.fluke-motorsport.co.uk/videos/albums/fluke/fluke2007/20071013...
Not small, 145mb I'm afraid, I'll get some low-res ones on YouTube over the next few days.
Car 56, 9th Overall
Excuse list for this video -
nursing last set of tyres home that were down to the wire, spongy brake pedal (melted fluid) and slipping pump belt meant short shifting to save some temp. Is that enough excuses for one stage?
Watching the videos I want to go again, can we have another one next weekend please?
And thanks again.
hi my name is fatmir ismaili, i am just sending a message to ask if anyone needed a service crew member for the next stage rally event thats taking place.
email me at mir-miri@hotmail.com
thanks.
Hi Fatmir,
The next rally we have members competing on is Rockingham stages on Dec 8th and 9th.
I will post separately regarding this.
To anyone considering taking Fatmir on, he is an experienced mechanic and would be a useful addition to any team.
