Chris and I are 'stage' commanders for the first selectif on saturday morning. Good luck to the CMC crews. see you on the start line!
Andy
ps we are working on the route etc for the Jan Jaunt 12-car. 2008's event starts and finishes at a pub in Brentwood and not at Stansted services.
Matt Endean / Dave Town are lying 2nd after the first days tests on the Lombard Endurance Rally. He therefore starts the second day as 2nd on the road in front of the other 108 cars ! An excellent start for Matt, hope he continues to go as well for the rest of the event.
yep today is Gloucester to somewhere in Wales....was [pleasantly!!!] surprised when he called, I didn't expect them to be 114 where they started but still higher than I expected....!
Well done Matt
Keep up the good work
Dad
he told me he's now 7th [at lunch halt at Llandow] at noon, but the website says he's 6th so am not too sure....
and hi Mike, but I must admit it's slightly weird to first meet / speak to you via the CMC forum
Modern technology!
He is now 8th out of the first 11 cars to arrive at Devils Bridge - the end of the first time card of Saturday.
People are now looking quite tired...
and they're not going to finish until late tonight.....!
They had a slow puncture yesterday and a few other bits of trim and pieces missing last I heard from him.
Just a quick note for those interested as just had a call from Matt, but they're retiring due to fuel pump issues.
Chris and I were marshaling at a chicane In Trelleck selectif in the Forest of Dean and were totally surprised that the first car through was no 114 - Matt and Dave! They were flying. Saw them again going through Glasfynnyd and then on Sat morning at the tarmac test at The Lake in Llandrindod where we were able to talk to them(we were on the start clock). Sorry they're out with technical problems, they were going very well indeed. Matt had it well wound up on Sweet Lamb - a scary place in parts with its steep drops etc. Richard and Adrian seemed to be enjoying themselves in the Maestro as were CMC members Kay and Mary in the ZR. The Lombard is a great event and it's something everyone into road rallying should do at least once in their life!
Andy
Thanks to people following our progress
Gutted doesn't come close to how we feel.
Thanks to ALL the marshals, but espcially Chris and Andy for trecking across to Wales !
I must echo Matt's thanks to the fellow CMC members who made the journey to support the event.
A great couple of days and an excellent and inspiring drive from Matt. Its a shame, as I am sure we had more speed to come on the Saturday evening but I guess thats just the nature of rallying.
Cheers
Dave
Comiserations to Matt and Dave looks like you guys had the petal to the metal, deffo proved an unjust seeding!! Go back next year and show them how its done Matt!
Matt & Dave,
What a brilliant effort - :)top result on the cards without the hardware failure.A word with some L's B's & O's aK & a'C & a 'S describes.....
Pete Paul Matt (and Dolly)
Sorry to Hear of your early departure Matt and Dave, was watching the results come in on the Lombard website, gutted for you but a great result up to retirment none the less.
TTB
Sorry to see you retire Matt - looked like you were doing really well. Sadly despite only living 15 miles from Chepstow I was stuck in the office all weekend so couldn't get any close than watching via the website
Planning to be back next year?
Great show boys. Really good to see you on the pace right from the start. Plenty of years in you to catch "simply the best" Turner.
A simply massive well done to Owen - just remember on which clubs events he gets himself match fit - a triple winner of our Endurance Rally !!! Also to Matt Fowle & Jamie Turner each with 2 of our gymkhana's under their belts this year. Its the water carrying experience that does it!
