Try replacing the elctrical cut-off switch before you try anything else, they can cause all sorts of out faults if it is the traditional 'key' type switch.
We had a similar problem on the Tempest - after a really ruff stage we had accquired a rather large hole in the manifold and had ripped the sump guard off. After trying to repair it the car then gave up, we changed ecu and still no joy - upon looking in the boot the tools had moved etc and were laying on the fuel pipe? after moving them it was all ok
We didnt retire just got excluded from results as we missed stage 3 as had to put a new gear box in. Still we had good fun and finished just! as we twisted the rear axle on stage 8!
Hi Jim,
It's probably the brown fuel pump / ecu relay under the ECU bracket - or more likly its connector to the power up pin, which is underated for the fuel pump /ECU load. Matt's red 106 XSi came to us via Ebay very cheaply as a result of regularly stopping for no apparent reason and starting again despite having loads of money spent on replacing parts.
I replaced the nasty PUG bit by two standard relays and some fuses and diodes.
If you want me to have a look at the cars electrics I can do so, give me a call after about 7:00 pm.
Lots of CMC people out in cars and helping out.
Tony Michael & Paul Barrett in the Civic
Jim Bowie & Tony Clements in the 106
I'll be there servicing along with Tom Ward or i might be found standing around eating cake
See you there
I hope my fire suit still fits... too much chocolate
Me and Ian Mepham are out in his 106
See you all there
DT

I shall be out with Richard Brogan in a white mk 2 escort. looking forward to it!
I won't be now - instead i will be spending the day working out whats wrong with the Mondeo's turbo......
What about the cake!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Don't worry i'll keep it and bring it along to the Gymkhana
So what did i miss, and how did the CMC crews get on ??? Whilst i was finding that i need a new turbo.......
Unfortunatley Jim went out after stage 1.
Tony & Paul, & Lewseys finished.
Not sure about the others tho.
Was a good event nice and dry!
What happened to Jim then ? Not a driveshaft i hope........
Do we know any results ?
I believe it was something to do with his ECU?
Irene & Richard came 11th overall and 4th in class.
Tony & Paul came 29th overall and 9th in class
Ian & David 33rd overall and 5th in class
Richard & Samm retired after stage 2 - no reason mentioned in results.
Electrics cut out on stage one on the bumpy track.
No one able to diagnose the problem despite a great deal of advice.
engine turned over but would not fire up - ECU replaced to no avail
Particular thanks to Spike , Chris & Ian Mepham
THE MOST ANNOYING THING . . . IT FIRED UP WHEN I GOT IT OFF THE TRAILER AND SO I DONT NOW KNOW WHAT THE PROBLEM WAS . . .
I think I'm prepared to pay a reasonable sum of money to someone to completely overhaul the electrics. ( 1992 PEUGEOT 106 XSi 1360 )
Volunteers or Recommendations please

did you have a spark while turning over ,coils tend to fail when warm and start working again when they've cooled down .
Yea was there a spark or injector pulses? CPS maybe?
Fuel pressure? (relay knocked out?)
