The MSA Britsh Autocross Championship has been agreed and details are just being finalised.

It will consist of six rounds (3 two day events) - A local one, one in the South West and one in the North.

Awards we be given for each class as well as Juniors and Best Lady.

Autocross is one of the cheapest forms of motorsport and a great way to start!

The events are run on grass or other relativley level surfaces (not tarmac or sealed surface). The circuits are designed to incorporate left and right hand bends over 1200 yards.

Each run comprises of 2 or more laps with usually 2 competitors leaving the line at a time - some events allow up to 4.

Classes have been designed to allow for cars to compete with similar cars - from completly standard, modified, rally cars, specials and juniors.

Juniors can compete from 14 years of age.

There are other local championships and clubmans events arrange in our area - at least 12 starting around May time.

An open day has been arranged to take place at Langley Park Rally School - have ride in a car, talk to competitors, find out what you need to compete and have some fun. Sunday 10th February, Langley Park Rally School, Langley Lawn, Langley Lower Green, Saffron Walden, Essex, CB11 4SB. For information about the open day call Simon on 01279 777519. Spread the word - hope to see you there!

Happy to answer any questions on here if I can - someone else might be able to if I can't!

Langley Park Open Day

The open day at Langley Park starts at 10am, LPRS are looking for volanteers to help with the running of the day. Smiling
They are welcoming local clubs to put up a "stall" to promote their club. So there will be probably be Wickford, Green Belt and Us!
I am attending a meeting this Saturday for the organisers and I am looking for help from CMC to help set up our "stall" and man it with me on the event (10th) weekend!
Drop me a line and let me know! I will be able to provide transport from Chelmsford!
Michael

Well done Mr Juniper, it looked like you were working really hard promoting CMC and AX today. Your stand looked good.

I think it went really well, we will let you know when BBC Essex are going to do there feature on the openday.

It was nice to see the representative of the The British Womens Racing Drivers Assoc there today- taking note on all the local clubs and events.

I think AX is going to be a great success this year especially if the Northen lads bring 30 entries with them , I am sure that will happend as they made the trip down from Newcastle for todays openday.

AX - BBC Essex publicity

The AX feature should be broadcasted this weekend on BBC Essex Radio - plugging AX and Motor Sport in general.

I see they have put the 3 car clubs that attended Langley Park on there web page.

Well done
