East Anglian Classic - Chief Marshals Report

jimbowie's picture

Firstly many thanks to the 83 Marshals and Officials that turned out last Saturday for the splendid running of the 29th East Anglian Classic under the capable guidance of Paul Brewerton.

There are plenty of photos and comments on Facebook, and as ever Tony Michael produced the results on mtc1 in double quick time.

Entries are open for Competitors & Marshal Registration

Both lists are coming along ncely with 24 entries & 19 marshals/officials but we need lots more.

Some great tests are coming together with 3 double running tests at Lavenham Airfield & 4 other venues of varying surfaces - one of which is new to the event. They are predominantly smooth so dig your old cars out for a great day out.

East Anglan Classic 17th June - Final call for marshals

Matt Endean's picture

First of all thank you to all those who have volunteered to marshal this year. We are doing quite well but could still do with another half dozen or so marshals to be comfortable that all positions are adequately covered. We have noted that several of our 'regulars' haven't signed up yet foir this year and would dearly love to see them out on Saturday 17th.

East Anglian Classic June 20 2020

In light of the latest advice from Motorsport UK and restriction of permits, we thought we need to issue an update about this year's event.

At present the East Anglian Classic has not been postponed or cancelled, although that is a real possibility further down the line. We are continuing route and test planning, albeit mostly desk-based at this stage.

We had planned to open entries and marshal registration this weekend, but these have been put back for a month to 20th April at the earliest. That will still give us 2 months before the projected date of the rally.

paulbrewerton's picture

Hi Ian Canavan, Car 4's navigator, has suffered an injury and can't compete, so Richard Isherwood is desperate to find a navigator - free run all paid in a competitive Golf Gti. If anyone can help please contact me and I'll put you in touch.

Please note this offer does not apply to signed on marshals or officials!

East Anglian Classic 2018 Entries

paulbrewerton's picture

The regulations state that today is the closing date for entries for the 2018 EAC. However as several entries may be dependent on what happens on the Hughes Rally which is also today, we will extend both the closing date and the date for full refunds to Monday 4th June. There are a number of provisional entries, and these also need to be confirmed and paid by Monday 4th June.

Navigator - East Anglian Classic Run

My son & navigator is moving to Manchester. Great for him but leaves me without a navigator for the East Anglian Classic.

Was planning to do the run in my MGB. I have very little experience so happy to hear from anyone of whatever level of experience who might be interested in joining me as a navigator

Cheers

Richard

Good evening

If any of you are planning a visit to the Autosport Show in Birmingham on Saturday why not drop in on your way up or back and see Tony Burchnall and me at the Historic Rally Car Register Open Day at the British Motor Museum at Gaydon, just off the M40. Free to enter and lots of stands all to do with Historic Rallying. We will be promoting the East Anglian Classic. There is a exhibition of Classic Rally Cars including a special on the iconic Metro 6R4.

Hope to see a few friendly CMC faces on Saturday!
