Endurance?

Hi Folks.

So i've done many and many Stage Rallies. I was just wondering if someone could give me a brief overview of what the differences are? I have a fair idea. It's more from the co-drivers side.

Is it maps like single venues? Is it reference maps? Is there notes? Whats the genda?

Thanks
John

Hi John, I have navigated on several enduros and the are quite a simple format. Generally early morning start. A road book is issued either marked maps or tulips and mileage etc. that will take you various tests. Tests are on private land and comprise of nagotiating around various obsticals tracks on different surfaces and lengths, sometimes twice or lapping. Then off to the next. The day comprises of around 20 tests with lunch and supper halts and concludes around midnight usually at a hotel. I have a few road books you can look at if you want. Drivers always seam to be looking for navs if you are prepared to travel. If you want any more info

Hi John,

Head to the championship's website for the regs etc and to watch the new promotional video, which might give you some idea. See http://endurance-rallying.co.uk/

You ask about matters from the nav's side? It varies from event to event, each rally has its own style. Some selectifs use maps quite like you get on single venue stage rallies or gymkhanas, others give it junction-by-junction using tulip diagrams. Ditto the road sections between selectifs, some are marked on an OS map, others defined by tulips. None of the systems used are tricky, some might take a little bit of getting used to, but there are always people around before rallies to share wisdom if you have questions.

Hope that helps!
