Free Food at Club BBQ - Thurs 18th July

I look forward to seeing club members , prospective club members , family and friends to our annual BBQ event. This year at The Duck , Newney Green , Writtle.

 

In order that we can give reasonably accurate food numbers to the caterers please register your interest on the web link.

 

Awards for the Winter Series 12 car championship will be presented at 9.30.

Club Meeting Tonight at The Duck

We have a regular monthly meeting tonight at the The Duck in Writtle.

The publican plans to provide a limited menu ( e g Burger & Chips ) but would like a handle on numbers expecting to eat. I have 5 names for for the moment but if anyone wishes to eat could they give me a call this afternoon.

Awards Night & AGM - Thursday 21st The Duck

All award winners, should have received personal invitations from me, to attend the awards evening at The Duck, Newney Green , Writtle on Thursday 21st March. 

 

All club members are invited to attend the AGM.   There will be some nibbles/snacks provided by the club on the night.

Tonight at the Duck

New club member and pub manager Nicholas Ellis is keen to welcome as many members a possible for our club night tonight at the Duck - he now has a range of real ales on and may be able to offer a few snacks.

The pub is now open Thursday to Sunday every week and is becoming noted for its Sunday lunches.

We are hoping to arrange some free food for all attending the March 21st AGM & Awards night - more details to follow.

Club Night - Thursday 17th - Duck at Newney Green is open

Some of you may have noticed that our new club night venue has been closed for a few days while the manager changed.

It will be open on Thursday this week (17th) for our club night as planned.

The new manager is keen to welcome as many members as possible and to make our monthly club nights a success.

Please make the effort to support this friendly country pub as Thursday will be their first weekday evening.

If you have some Brands Hatch Stages planning, or just fancy a post New Year pint to help talk about cars (or whatever) then come and join us from 8pm.

Inter Club Quiz in Uxbridge Wed 14 th Nov 2018

Middelsex County Auto Club are looking to run an inter club quiz at Uxbridge Golf Club on Wed 14th November.

They need teams of 6 to 8 people and unsurprisingly the committee are unable to muster a team that size which want to be out late for a quiz on a "school" night.

The current team of 3 comprises Matt & Suze Endean, as they both work west of London and live not too far away,  and me.

Are there any CMC members living in Middlesex/South Bucks/East Berks able to help us out OR any keen enough to fill a car from Essex and come with me ?

Road Access to Pub Tonight OK

There are roadworks at the north end of Little Baddow, and road closed signs out at either end of the main road through Little Baddow that the General's Arms is on.

The road is not actually closed at the moment. I drove through the roadworks this morning. Access to the pub is unaffected - just ignore the road closed signs.
