John Conboy - RIP

I am very sad to report the recent passing away of John Conboy.

John was a long serving member of the CMC committee, most recently as our Development Officer, and widely known in East Anglia for roles encouraging people to get involved in motorsport.

I am at a loss how to finish this post, and as deeply saddened as all the people who knew him will feel.Our thoughts are with his family.

Britvic rally 1960's

I have been told that somebody recently posted on social media (Facebook I believe) a copy of the route navigation for one of the 1960's Britvic Rally. (Britvic factory to Thetford (stages), Thetford  to Wells next the sea (road rally), Wells next the sea to Thetford (road rally on whites), then Thetford back to the Britvic factory Stages). If this is indeed true I would be very interested in seeing them.

Motorsport UK COVID-19 Update

From MotorsportUK : 'It is with regret that Motorsport UK is suspending all organising permits and Certificates of Exemption until at least 30th April 2020. This suspension follows the latest guidance issued by HM UK Government in response to the outbreak of COVID-19. This position will be constantly reviewed given prevailing information.'

Club Events Update - Coronavirus

Please keep an eye on this website for announcements affecting the  possible postponement or cancellation of imminent and future events planned by the club. 

This will include the Awards Night and AGM this Thursday 19th and the 12 Car on Friday 20th. 

We are currently consulting with Motorsport UK, other affected organisations and will contact as many affected individuals as possibe by email, and by forum announcement as soon as possible.

Brands Hatch - a Celebration of Teamwork

Despite tricky icy conditions for SS1 at Brands Hatch yesterday, the whole event ran tremendously well thanks to the sterling efforts of the set up and change round teams lead by Mark Andrews  - Mandrews, Mandy or even Manboobs to his friends !

Mark is the Assistant Clerk of the Course responsibe for stage layout & set up. He's OCD with his cone alignement but we love him.

I will hereby name check the whole set up team, and to see if you are reading this allow you to remind of the people I forget.

Jan Jaunt 12 Car needs marshals!

Help! We still need to organise 7 marshals (or more) so we can run the 12-car in eight days time!

You do not have to come to the start or finish, just turn up at the control location at the right time. The route starts and finishes in Mountnessing, keeps to the west of Chelmsford, north of the A12, well east of the M11 and mostly south of the A1060. So it's not far to go!
