Multi-Venue Targa with tests on private land on the Dengie Peninsular in East Essex. We have support from 9 landowners to create 18 tests of a total 40 miles plus 60 road miles for a Multi-Venue Targa.

The event will start from Bradwell on Sea Airfield for scrutineering, trailer parking and rally HQ and then follow the coast down towards Burnham on Crouch, then return to Bradwell for lunch and then back to Bradwell to run the same route in reverse although some tests will be varied.

Test surfaces will be smooth concrete on the airfield and part of some other tests, smooth gravel tracks and mostly smooth grassy tracks. Subject to harvest progress, we hope to have some stubble fields but we will not know this until a lot nearer the date. Some of the tracks used are those used on the old Essex Charity Stages Rally.

For those who may remember me from my time as Clerk of Course on the Preston, the event will not be rough but there may be the odd hole or two so we will arrow these for safety otherwise you will not see them in the tall grass. The entire route has been driven in a road going Ford Kuga with no guards, but we would advise underbody protection if you want to be truly competitive.

As this event has 9 locations, we will not be able to re-use marshals. As a result we will need a good number of marshals as we intend to have controls on all changes of direction. This has the added advantage of helping to keep to mandated time schedule.

Some of the manned controls will be on tracks close to the sea wall. Although we have driven the entire route in a standard car, there will be some controls where a 4x4 with that bit of added ground clearance will help with parking and access/exit options.

We appreciate this is a new event but hopefully the organising teams credentials and the use of many of the tracks and land used on previous Essex Charity Stages is enough for you to make the visit as a competitor or support us in a marshalling capacity.

As with all major Chelmsford events, this event will be supporting an Air Ambulance Charity, this time the Essex and Herts Air Ambulance Charity.
