It is with unbelievable sadness that I must report the untimely passing of my friend and star of East Anglian Club Motorsport Dave Shaggy Saint.

Shaggy first came to motorsport as a marshal about 15 years ago when his son Huey started attending events with his stepfather David Taylor,  and of course joined CMC despite living near Lowestoft.

Shaggy soon became addicted to wearing orange at the weekends and encouraged countless numbers of people to get involved in club motorsport and in particular marshalling often within his marshal supergroup Team Halo. He won the CMC marshal champonship trophy several times  with colossal attendance records. 

He built up his skills as an event Chief Marshal and took senior roles on The Preston , JJ Targa , EAC Snetterton Stages & Rixys. He also joined SCCON & AMSC committees and then also joined WSMC clerking various PCT's and Autosolo's. Dave has been instrumental getting East Anglian motorsport back into Woodbridge.

He also became a pretty handy driver winning his class at the Wattisham JJT with his son Huey a few weeks ago.

Just after Easter he had a heart episode but was sent home to recover after a stent - then suddenly on Saturday 18th April he was gone.

Our hearts go out to Huey, his family, his extended family in East Harling and his friends.
