New starter questions on penalties

As the Jumbo will be my first there are a couple of things from the regs / penalties section I'd like to check please.

1. Penalty for "Failing to stop astride finish line". How is the finish line marked?

2. Is there any other line where need to stop astride?

3. Penalty for "Failing to cross a line with all 4 wheels". What lines are there that are relevant?

4. Is there any rule to prevent cutting, like a '4 wheels off' penalty applied to sprints?

Thanks ... learning curve!

Targa Penalties

The finish line is the last lettered pair of cones on the test diagram. Stop between the cones (astride an imaginary line between them). You are timed when you stop,  and you then pull forward slowly to the marshal who will deal with your time card.

There are no other stop astride lines with penalties. There are some passage checks you need to stop at. If you don't stop in the right place for those, the marshal will just take a while longer to reach you to sign your time card.

There are no lines where you need to cross with all 4 wheels on this targa. That wording comes from a "reverse over a line" manoeuvre we have had on historic rallies in the past. Although if Jim reads this, he might be tempeted to add one... (I'm still working on the diagrams).

We will place extra cones on the apex of corners where we don't want you to cut (which may not be in the diagrams due to lack of space). Cutting inside of those would be considered a "wrong side" penalty.

Thanks - that's clear.

Just one follow up please - with the finish line if we overshoot are we allowed to reverse ?

Overshoot

Hi

Quite definitely no reversing back if you overshoot the finish line. Just stop or take the penalty.
