New Year plans anyone ?

Chairman Jim here.

This forum site is too quiet at the moment - somebody else must be thinking about motorsport other than me!

I'm looking forward to our stage rally at Wethersfield on 18th Jan , although I'm not doing anything more exciting than driving a truck full of cones around.

Let us hear about some club member plans for the year.

I'm thinking of hiring a rally car for a one off East Anglian airfield stage rally event, but thinking I could probably buy a car for the cost of the hire, then there's the hassle of keeping , maintaining and transporting it . . . . .

I'm also planning a road trip to Le Mans this year.

Happy New Year to you all.

Happy New Year Jim

I may well be able to help with maintaining and transporting should you go down that route.

New Year

Happy New Year Jim and All

I was out with Andy Figg last week and we are thinking of Le Mans this year. I haven't been for a few years but I take my caravan and stop at Chateu Chanteloup which is about 10 minutes drive to the circuit. They are well into the race and put on their own car show and entertainments. They have got accommodation but most people camp, I've camped in the circuit but much prefer here, you need to think about booking soon though it's very popular. The Aston would look the part here:

The Goodwood Revival is definitely on our list again this year, doing the 3 days this year

Happy New Year everyone!!!

Happy New Year everyone!!!

Got back from Spain yesterday and felt so tired that I was in bed well before midnight... didn't get much sleep in 2014 and my main plan is to get a bit more in 2015, so exciting!!! :-)

House moving in April, actually buying for the first time, so my motoring budget will be even more limited. I still want to compete in as many club events as possible (12 cars, autosolos and targas) or help out/marshal when available. So far Sofia has been very understanding...

First in 2015 will be the Wethersfield Stages, I'll be there doing whatever Karen asks me to do...

... and maybe 2016 will see me buying a 'proper' rally car!!

See you in a couple of weeks at Wethersfield.

Plans

Well, 2015 can only go downhill after thrashing Chelsea yesterday.

Ellen & I are planning fewer historics this year, but hope to get out on an endurance or two depending on how the new look championship pans out. I need to find a use for the Mini and that might be it. And I would really like to do either the Tests or Le Jog in either car but the Missus is not keen, purely on the length of them. So I might be looking for a suitable volunteer to team up - ideally to nav while I have a short driving re-birth.

We are booked already for the Goodwood Revival, and there will inevitably be at least one Nürburgring trip.

I intend to do enough sprints this year to have a chance of winning the championship
Once I had the car sorted I did quite well .

Bit late to this one - Luis,

Bit late to this one - Luis, i'm in the middle of a major house building project - believe me it takes up A LOT of time but having your own place is well worth it!!!

I'm aiming to dip my toe into competing - have a go at the Targa events and keep up some steady involvement with CMC events as a marshall. Unfortunately life seems so busy at the moment that I think i'll only really be able to get out to a handful of events (in any form) this year - although that's better than nothing at all...!

The few people I have met through the events i've been to have been very friendly though - I look forward to meeting more of you!
