WSMC Debden Autosolo & Autotest

Lots of CMC representation on a blustery day , but the organisers did a sterling job replacing the cones and letter boards.

Pending full results I can confirm from memory that Tomasz Marciniak was fastest overall ( in his stock hatch rallycross saxo) winning the Autotest ( only 5 starters ?) with John Petersen Mini winning his class and Richard Preston Escort 2nd in his.

The Autosolo was a BMW battle with Adrian White 318 coupe winning overall from Gregor Kokoszka in his fruity 328i cabrio, They were both in A2 with Paul Speechley getting the A2 2nd i/c and Jim Bowie 3rd. A2 casualties included Tim Hanman with a slalom overcorrection taking him in to the trees at some speed & sadly wrecking his MX8 - fortunately unhurt. Alan Coombs debut in his super quick Clio Williams ended very early with a sheared driveshaft. Bart Smolen finished well down in his Impreza.

The A1 class was won by Duncan Christmas Fiat 126 from Luiz Diaz delighted with a 2nd i/c pot beating amongst others David Leckie , Kim Adams and Tham Evans..

The Mazda class was won by Daren Hall from Roger Dudley and Jonathon Williams. Jeremy Evans, Martin Styles ( X1/9) & Bex Styles of CMC were in class B somewhere. . . . full results to follow.

Another very enjoyable event

Another very enjoyable event in good company. As Jim said, I was delighted with 2nd in class on my second ever autosolo and my first ever trophy by driving merits... Awaiting full results as I want to see if Duncan got any test wrong, I got only one and the final gap was 20 seconds!

I feel sorry for Tim's beautiful Mazda, whoever said that it's impossible to hit anything on an autosolo...
