ROUND TWO TWYFORD WOOD. 27th May 2007

A very wet Twyford wood was the venue for round 2 of the Peugeot 205 challenge, having never been to the venue before but hearing loads of war stories about the place I just wanted to get going and going we did.

SS1 Nice and steady, picked up a puncture at the end of the stage dropping a bit of time.

SS2 Clipped a curb or hole which pushed us towards a small tree although no panel damaged somthing was not right and the car felt very unstable and noisy, ah punctured front and a broken/lost
rear exhaust box and with no brakes for the rest of the stage we dropped loads of time !!

SS3 Approached the jump at the end of the long straight in the same manor as on stages 1 and 2, but by now the jump had changed shape !! The back snaped right which through the front to the left and in a sideways drift for about 20-30 meters hitting rocks and trees along our way, Shane braced, I held on to the wheel and prayed, When I opened my eyes we were still up right, I grabed 1st gear and off we went, limped around the remaining 5 miles with another puncture no rear exhaust or brakes.

SS4 Canceled. (Steve and Jez part of our team) hit a tree square on taken to Grantham A&E, Both OK and released that night

SS5 Had now lost a lot of confidence in the car stability so never pushed to hard but still managed a small spin

SS6 Ditto SS5. James and Loz (part of our team)hit the same tree as Steve !!! bent floor = reshell

Darky inspected the damage at the end of the day and found that we had bent 5 rims,punctured 3 tyres,bent the rear beam, pushed the rear arch into the floor pan,sheered of the brake calliper and hand brake mech,split the brake lines,cracked the floor pan,and lost and recovered the rear exhaust twice !!!

but hey Darky and the crew got us out each time and we got to the end the rally.

loved the venue although a bit rough.

We have a short in car clip of our moment, I applogize now for Shanes bad language LOL, (audio not suitable for little kids)

So out of 4 cars in the Paul Dark rally team 3 now need re-shelling all by sundays test at sweet lamb
