I am running the delayed Feb 12-car in 3 weeks time, all entries much appreciated
Starting just west of Ipswich.
Nice easy clues for beginners, and assistance plotting (if the driver is not an expert!), and a marked map to get you round in case of emergency.
Offers to marshall would be much appreciated, as that was a contributing factor in Feb, as it clashed with the Snetterton Stages.
Cheers
Colin
Trying to put in an entry, but get a screen full of who-knows -what when I press 'submit entry' .
Can a tech wizard have a look please !
George

If anyone fancies marshalling it would be much appreciated.

Here are the finals.
Evening All
A mistake has just been pointed out to me that map 169 is also needed for Friday night, this isn't mentioned in the entry or finals.
I will email round everyone, I will make a photocopied map extract availaable if you do not have the latest 169 (Mobile Download version)
Apologies for that.
Colin
Thanks to Colin and all marshals and helpers for last night.
Clever navigation and challenging lanes, but Lucy was fantastic on the maps. That annoying misfire happened again... needs sorting before Exmoor, which is our next event.
Great fun following/being followed other competitors.
See you next time.
Luis
Thanks for a really challenging start to the new 12-car season, Colin.
Super choice of lanes and nav which really made us stop and think, literally. JC was awesome as usual. Thanks John.
It was really good to see a nearly full entry, which is very encouraging. As ever we are endebted to the help from marshals and everyone else involved. It was a very good start/finish location too, so a great start to the new season and the new Championship as well. Heaven help us if Lucy and Luis continue like this. Both were saying how tired they were after frenetic working weeks, so I'm not looking forward to when they and the car are all firing on four. Full marks to everyone who had a go last night and to Colin and the crew for getting us off so well to a new Winter series.
Echoing the previous comments...thank you to all those who helped to stage the Priestley, with particular thanks to Colin for providing some interesting clues...I particularly liked the fill-in-the-blanks clue on the first section. They look straightforward from a glance at the page but seemed trickier when plotting. This added to brain issues which might give a smile (such as reading BYB as BGB so getting thoroughly confused as such a sequence wasn't possible - I ended up asking Luis to pull into the services for me to stop and think; not being able to count roads etc to identify the correct one to go down also on the 2nd section; not spotting spot height 63 because I'd highlighted all spot heights on the map except that one; reading LWR on last junction as LWR on 7th junction (no idea how!); and getting 28+ green dots every time I counted rather than the 27 needed)....and that was just plotting! Shows that everyone can come away from such events with room for improvement!! Massive thanks to Luis for the patience and calmness considering all the challenges!
It was particularly nice to have a good chat to Richard and Mike in the pub before the start...I hope we'll see you, and the other beginners, at future 12 cars. And of course thanks to everyone else competing for such a friendly 'competitive' atmosphere.
Looking forward to December's 12 car (sadly looking after a bunch of sixth formers in November!).
Thanks to Colin and all the willing marshalls for a great Friday Night Event.
Beth is still learning the plotting game and I was not much help.
Confusing Due East with West was our main problem after TC6, leading to opening the panic envelope with one stage left to plot.
Found the first section particularly akward as we had to use 3 different maps in the first 2 miles, once the paper folding exercise was completed we settled into it.
I made the the mistake of following Luis and Lucy at one point, as did others, only to find all three of us were on the wrong yellow. Must have more faith in my Navigator!!
Can't do Ben and Steves in November, but hope to get back on the Preston in December again this year.
Thanks
Jim and Beth Drake. Silver MGZR
