The March Hare 12 Car 2023 is fast apprtoaching and I would appreciate the help of volunteer Officials and Marshals.
Jim and I will put the code board stakes out in the afternoon but I would appreciate a crew to do the Equipment Car duties and put the boards out ahead of the run.
Jim normally does the Opening Car for me but this year, his daughter Beth can't make it so I am looking for crew to do the Opening Car instead.
Plenty of Time Controls to cover with the marshal crews at TC2 and TC3 doubling up to cover later controls.
If you are able to help and would like to come out on the night, can you please let me know via the forum.
Graham Robinson
Event Secretary.
Quite a few course car helpers, marshals & competitors have responded directly to Graham Robinson & myself so the event is fully set to run.
If anyone is still thinking of volunteering let us know in person at the awards night tomorrow.
Jim
Hi all, many thanks for offering to Marshal on the CMC March Hare 2023 12 Car. Could I ask you to come to the Pub/Start venue (The Generals Arms PH, Little Baddow) to collect your documentation by 19:00hrs on Friday 24th March. Please bring OS maps 167 and 168 with you as you will need them to get to your designated Time Control.
Jamie and Callam, as you are new to Marshaling can you please eMail me. Please use the eMail address on the Event Regs.
Graham
Thanks to Graham, Peter, Paul and all the organisers and marshals an enjoyable evenings drive, thanks also to all the entrants, it's no fun with out any competition. I admit it would have been more enjoyable had I read all the navigational instructions correctly, but thats what it's all about.
Nick and Julie
ps please enter the Blackberry event the navigation is easy peasey (tulips) so you can concentrate/practice your 'regularity'.

Hi all, many thanks to all the crews, marshals and officials on last nights CMC March Hare 2023 12 Car Navigational rally. My measure of a successful event, is that all crews and marshals / officials make it back to the finish venuur safely. So thank you all. Great result for Richard / Ben with 0F and 0 mins 1st O/A. But taken in contect with an houir to pre-plot the route before hand and Ernstzen and Kevin having to plot and bash both performances were creditable. It bodes well for the sport. Another creditable performance was by Car5, Steve Honeywood and James Portway, despite a puncture, they still manged to score a creditable 7th O/A and 2nd Novice. I was very pleased to welcome Jamie and Callum and thank you both for taking a Time Control.
Regards,
Graham
Thanks for an enjoyable night Graham. It was nice to see some new faces out there marshalling, thanks to all of you too. Although the weather had not been ideal earlier in the day, I was particularly looking forwards to this one as in and around my local area. As it turned out the weather ended up ok and I even drove some lanes that I had not been down before. Not the most successful result for the old Triumph 2000 this time though, after losing 10 minutes trying to make the 1st section plot work, Colin my nav realised that his map had an historical pencil circle around another pub that was half an hour down the road from the Generals, therefore putting his start point in the wrong place! We made good progress through the middle sections but came unstuck again on the final stretch where we ended up on an unmade private drive at the back of Danbury before correcting our route and finding the ford. That and the several minutes contemplation as to whether the Triumph would make it though 30cm deep water resulted in is arriving 6 minutes OTL at the last TC, adding 3 fails to an otherwise clear run!

We too found that unmade private drive - and that was with a marked map, much to the amusement of two couples walking home from the pub. I blame Ordnance Survey for printing the place name right over the road so you couldn't see the right/left kink.
