Entry in the post for Lucy and myself (I'm driving but it didn't sound right) in the Mini. Hopefully, it'll make it to you before it sells out...

Withdrawal, please

Paul, can you withdraw Ellen & I from this event - we have realised that there is still a mathematical but remote chance of us winning the novices section of the HRCR Clubmans this year, so feel we ought to do the Regis that weekend instead.

Colin.

hopeful for the 12 car?

Hi Paul, is there still a space available in the Halloween 12-car? It'd be my first go at an event...

Ken, are you still looking to navigate for someone? I'd need a willing volunteer if I were to enter!

Thanks John

Halloween Entry changes

Colin - no problem.

John - yes, there are still entries left. Currently we have 10 and the four experts cede priority to novices and beginners until next Friday when the list is firmed up and from then on it's first come first in. Send your entry form and fee to me asap.

marshalling

Paul

As it looks like there are 2 hopes (the other one is Bob) of Mike and I getting a run (he forgot to post the entry and we would be 5th expert in the queue!), we are up for openning or closing car if you are lacking, or standing in a muddy layby if not, maybe even 2 laybys.

Cheers

Halloween marshalling

Colin,

Thank you. All the controls are specially chosen to be warm and dry so I'll put you down for one - details at clubnight on Thursday, or by email early next week if you are not there.

I still need a couple more marshals please - remember that you get winter series points!

Cheers

Finals

Hi Paul

You have an error in the finals in that you have put car 8 down as Mike BANKS it should be Mike BISHOP.

Also does the the navigator have to be at scrutanering. As i like some others will be making my own way to the start.

Thanks

Mark Rutter.

Sorry Mark, and the two Mikes, for the error. I can confirm that Mr Banks is in Car 5 and Mr Bishop is in Car 8. I'll try not to make any more mistakes.

The navigator does not need to attend noise / scrutineering, only the car with whoever is driving it at the time.

Arrgh, just realised that the map requirements in the finals differ from those in the entry form/initial details.

No time/opportunity to buy another, is using 167 C2 underscore going to mess us up?

You'll be OK with 167C2bar on this event. I've checked the nav on bother versions.

But 167 C3 has been available for over a year now  - it's the 2012 revision - and you really should get a new one asap as other events can use some of the updates - eg cycle tracks and new roads.

Dash4IT Maps often offer up to 40% discounts and deliver very quickly.

Halloween 12 Car Results

Well done to all 12 crews for getting round a challenging route last night and thank you for all driving well in the quiet zones - the driving standards observer was complementary, although he did have fun watching some interesting routes taken through Wickham Bishops.

All the boards were found and all the sections were cleaned by at least one crew, so I guess the nav / route combination was about right, but no one cleaned up. Pat & Stuart were kicking themselves again for missing the first PC of the event.

But hats off to Mike Banks and Darren Armitage, in the oldest car on the event, for having the patience to get more PCs than anyone else, despite a relatively high time penalty.

No one went OTL, but a few crews did cut towards the end when the nav got a bit challenging.

Halloween Thanks

Thanks Paul and all the marshals for last night's rally.

I know us teachers have very long holidays and do nothing but the crew in the little Mini yesterday was feeling physically and mentally drained after the longest half-term eve. If someone had offered me a 3rd overall before the start I would've signed it straight away...

I enjoyed the route very much, we found hardly any public traffic at all and driving on some very muddy lanes was great fun. The best bit was when chasing Jim and Graham´s Cooper while being chased by John's Civic on the, possibly,  muddiest and twistiest section of the route. And then swapping road positions for a while... great fun!!

Our entry is in for the next one just one week before the Preston (marshals needed!), see you there! In the mean time the Debden autosolo and the MandH Targa at Woodbridge, busy times ahead...

Halloween Thanks

Hi Paul,  many thanks to you, your officials and all the marshals for another great night of motorsport.   Congratulations to Mike, Mark and their Sprifire for a classic victory.  The navigation was straight forward shame about the navigator.  One wrong slot and missing the 2nd junction on the deleted section did for us.

Thanks to all the competitors, it was a full turnout.  It just goes to show how popular the CMC 12 Cars are.

Regards

Graham. Mini Cooper

Thanks from us too for a great event, just to clarify though, It was Mike Banks & Mark Rutter who were victorious - Darren say's he's not ready to be promoted to Expert yet!

The Stag smelt strongly of cow poo when I washed it yesterday!

Super Event

Super event, I really enjoyed driving those roads and we had great time. Very surprised that we did that well. Thanks very much Paul and crew.

MikeyB - so that's what it was!  I was was worried that the Spitfire was leaking gearbox oil at the finish as I thought it smelled of EP90, which famously smells of cat poo when hot.  Cows, Cats - almost the same.....

Paul - apologies, I only saw this message when I looked for the result! Between that and your email disappearing into my spam folder I must have been hard to get hold of!

Hopefully I did my job on NTC5 ok - the little lane I was on was surprisingly busy as I waited for the cars - hopefully it didn't slow people down too much...
