Do all the begginers need to buy all 3. Its a 50 mile route, if one is only using a small part, would you be offering a copy of that part for begginers, or will they all have to purchase all 3 maps.
On the other hand I believe it is always better to use the real maps. Most people will already have 168 as it's been used this eason, as has 155. They are available online for around £5 each with combined postage for multiple orders from companies such as dash4it.
Jim and I are still showing payment pending. I paid on the 1st Feb and I have a PayPal receipt from the Motorsport Club of Chelmsford for £10 to prove it. Can you please investigate.
The added bonus doing this on a 12 car is that you learn how to cope with multiple maps before progressing to bigger events which nearly always use two or more maps.
John - Just to let you know I've mentioned it to the KEGS Rally Club boys in case they are interested (perhaps more potential as it is half term) - I think at least one is certainly thinking of coming. I've told them to get in touch with you if they do decide to come to help with an idea of numbers etc. Hope it goes well!
No problem. Your membership status hasn't made it through to the web site. I've made it give you access now, so you should be able to download the file,
Maybe a bit too late to point out but the meeting place for the Tendring 100 12-car is wrong on our website.
Also, just a suggestion, maybe it would be worth including a link to the final instructions in the same place on the website event 'square' where Regs can be found, instead of hiding them on the forum thread. :) Maybe even a bulk email distribution. It would make our life of absolute beginners that little bit easier in helping to navigate the website and finding vital information about the event
Thanks to all of you for coming out tonight, hopefully it wasn't too difficult, though my promise of easy clues for the experts seemed to scare 66% of the field away.
Congratulations to the Howletts for a narrow victory over Rob and Emilie.
I will get the detailed results to Tony Michael for him to post on here in a few days so you can all analyse where you went wrong.
And i can't beleive all of you wrote down the dummy codeboard... :-(
Sounds like you all had a good event last night. Shame Jim and I could not make the start. The Mini suffered an ignition problem between Hertford and Harlow on the A414. Jim tried to fix it but it still would not go and ended the night on the back of an AA Relay wagon . Sound like the same problem we suffered on the January Jaunt. I know of several cases now of electronic ignitions on classic Minis failing. Perhaps its time to revert old fashioned points just to prove the rest of the electrics are working.
Can you eMail the navigation. I would like to give it a try allbeit from the comfort of the dining room table.
A good night out marshalling on the Tendring 100. Well done to the Howletts on their maiden 12 car win, long awaited... we knew they were doing well as it was the only crew that made it to our control on their scheduled time (TC5), quite a few cars were very close to OTL when they made it to us.
Also, thanks to Lucy for introducing me to the Geocaching world.
I can't wait to have my car back, hopefully soon. I have volunteered to drive Graham around on the March Hare so won't be competing... giving the rest a chance and all that
I loved the start/finish venue by the way, cheers Colin.
I can photocopy mine if you don't get one emailed but I'm in a place called great Wakering just outside southend so can either post it to you or meet you if your localish to southend.
Hello All,
Novice nav looking for a driver with a car for this one.
.
Cheers
Tendring 100 entries are now open:
Hi Tony,. can you show md as paid. didnt take refund from Jan Jaunt
the regs state the route is on 3 maps.
Do all the begginers need to buy all 3. Its a 50 mile route, if one is only using a small part, would you be offering a copy of that part for begginers, or will they all have to purchase all 3 maps.
Morning Ed
Yes, it is across 3 maps (annoying that isn't it!)
Without giving too much away I hope, there are at least 8 miles on each of the 3 maps, and 168 and 169 overlap.
For the 3 (so far) beginners, if they ask, I am happy to provide copies of all 3 of the map sections in with their clues.
Cheers
Colin

As part of ongoing training, I am going to be putting on a Table top rally at Febs club night at Lt Baddow
I will publish full details nearer the time
If you wish to join in, post on here
Count me in John and Gary Lewis thanks
Sorry John - would be at the tabletop there but it's half term! Will be up north. Hope it goes well.
Colin - we're seeing where Luis gets to with the car but if that doesn't work out I should be able to marshal.
Thanks for teh offer Lucy, hopefully Luis will get it ready, but if not, I'm sure there is a space in a cold wet layby for you.
Still need a couple more marshalls if anyone can assist.
Cheers
Colin
will this count towards the championship john
No Pat, its just a training exercise for newbies.
Cheers

For those attending Thursday nights event. You will need maps 167 and 155.
You will also need romer, pencils, rubber and lighting is poor so a torch would be useful
If you aim to be there for start at 8.30.
If you are on your own and want to have a go, I will pair you with someone
I can't beleive we have stuck at 11 entries.
I even promised easier clues for experts, where are you all??
:-)
There is a slight chance my car will be ready but don't want to commit yet, I won't be using the Rav4 any more...
Luis
Colin if we don't get a run we will come and Marshall ( pat and Stuart )
Finals will be published in the next 24 hours. Looks like everybody gets a run, and there is still a space.
Please note.... Map 169 must be version C2 (underscore) or newer for the navigation to work.
If you have an older version, let us know at the start and we can check if it will work.
My non-versioned one from the 1970s definately doesn't, but then it should probably be in a museum!
Cheers
Colin
Colin,
I sent you an email a couple of days ago about marshalling but didn't get a reply. Lucy and I can do a couple of controls if required.
Let us know.
Luis
Luis
Many thanks for the offer.
I sent Lucy an email. It will be a wet and muddy layby in darkest Suffolk (I think)
Cheers
Colin
cool, will check with her.
thanks

Hopefully I have sent the information on to everyone that asked me for it. Shout if it didn't arrive.
Just working on the detailed results, so you can all soon see where you di (and didn't) go wrong.
