Same here, I believe Lucy is available for this one. We won it two years ago in the Mini and couldn't defend the crown last year as the 106 wasn't well after the Preston... it survived last Saturday but new front brake pads and a passenger door locking mechanism is needed.
We have 6 entries so far, but apart from competitors we also need marshals! So if you're able to help out and do a control that would be great. Contact details in the regs. If you want to go straight to the control then go home that's fine, but it will be warm and snug in the pub where we start and finish. Free bar of choccy for all marshals! Thanks in advance .....
Please note the earlier start time, car 1 will now leave at 1945hrs.
And also note the comment in the regs about the filling station on the A12 at the Mountnessing turn off, it's always a mess on Fri nights - a MacDonalds there as well - so best avoided.
There is another service station next to Shenfield station, but again it's Friday evening but it won't be as messy as there isn't a McDonald's attached.
We have 9 crews on the entry list so far but none are in the Beginners class. So come on you beginners and get your entries in! The navigation is easy this year (it always has been!?), and there's only about 12 code boards. You should be able to plot all the route before you leave and then all you do is navigate the correct way round. So come out and enjoy yourself. Entry form on the Jan Jaunt page - go on, do it.
The Jan Jaunt final regs are now up and the entry list now shows the seeded version.
But... there are 3 places still available and it would be good if these were filled by Beginner crews! The navigation is straightforward, and the weather will warm up by Friday so no need to be worried by icy patches on the road. We can accept last minute entries up to early on Friday evening and on a 'first come first served' basis, so please text me on 07851 135363 so I can reply to confirm your start no. The 3 places are also avaiable to N's and E's of course.
We now have a full quota of marshals - thank you all.
ooooh, wondering if the last minute Mepham/Blows entry may be an incentive for other Masters to enter... it would be good to run a full, or nearly full, entry.
Thought that we should make Andy and the rest of the teams effort worthwhile, we were both at Owen's new unit at Bury today and felt that we could have a bit of fun, car is completely unprepared with no map light or any aids to help the geriatric!
Annoyingly in trying to change my punctured tyre I've found out that the 'special' bolt is taking it's job too seriously and being so special its become too rounded to get purchase. So I might not have transport tomorrow night. Is anyone heading from/past Chelmsford (I'm Great Baddow) that might be able to help me out with a lift? Thanks!
Thank you - that'd be much appreciated. I'll give you a call tomorrow if I need it! Fingers crossed breakdown can sort me out but I'm not holding out much hope!
Thanks Andy, Chris and all the others involved. We had a great run last night and enjoyed it very much. The clues were spot on, as was the timing and choice of roads. Brilliant.
Thanks to all involved in organising and marshalling last night - nice route which included some good head scratching in the last section (one day I will remember about compass directions preceeding features!). Even more fun to so close to John & Tony in the furthest cleanest element! KEGS is putting on a major production on the 24th Feb (Miss Saigon) so won't make it to that 12 car but looking forward to the March Hare instead.
Chris and I say thanks to all involved in the JJ, including the competitors. Although we only had 8 cars competing we're pleased the crews enjoyed the event, even though we used the same area on 167 as the last 2 or 3 years. Thanks too to all the marshals and to the two Pauls who checked the navigation - important! Special thanks to Suze and Colin who made lengthy journeys to stand with clocks and torches at the side of the road. We enjoyed it too, so 'thank you' everyone!
allways a quality event myself and Rich Baker will put an entry in as soon as its open

Have temporarily traded in my No1 driver as Mike is otherwise occupied for the emergency standby, I did pay via PayPal.

Don't go there either! Because of the Crossrail line works and bus replacement service it's pandemonium there most nights, especially Fridays.

There's a service station at West Hanningfield on the road between Galleywood and Stock, about a mile from junction 16 of A12,
Tim and I can drop down to beginners if that helps................
rich and i can drop down to beginners if that helps
Ok, but you will be given 3 Fails at TC1
Hi All, (and I mean All!)
We are short of marshals for the 27th, 2 controls as yet un-manned and are vaguely north of Fyfield. Can anyone help please?
2, yes 2 bars of chocolate for the next two volunteers!
TIA,
Andy
Hi Andy ,
I can marshal over at Fyfield if you still need people.
kr,
Ken
Hi Ken,
Great! Could you send me your email and mobile details please. My contact details are in the regs.
Thanks,
Andy
I can marshal at a control, preferably close ish to Brentwood, Fyfield is not too far away......

Many thanks Tony. Could you txt me yr email address please to 07851 135363, then I can forward your control location, etc.
Andy
Hi Andy,
I should be on your list from a conversation we had at the 12 car organisers meeting
Jim
Here are the final instructions.
The entry list has been seeded with space for more: https://mtc1.uk/Entry/JanJaunt17/EntryList.php
The Jan Jaunt final regs are now up and the entry list now shows the seeded version.

Andy
Hi Andy. We are still coming on Friday and will pay you on the night if that's ok
Andy
Are you still intending to check memberships cards as per Finals?
Mine is still in the post, as is Steve my drivers.
Cheers
Colin
Membership cards etc will be checked by Tony, I am sure he will be understanding!
The final instructions appear to just be the seeding list and nothing more. Is this correct as there is no mention of scrutineering? Simon
Simon
There's a private file attachment in Tony M's post above. If you can't see it send Tony a message and he will give you access.
Paul
Good evening Tony, I can't get into the finals to print them off. Thanks Simon
Hi Simon,
Your membership is missing from the database, which would autmatically give you access. I've given you access to the finals another way now.
Tony
Hi Tony, let me know how to access the finals. This must be the reason why I can never find them
Thanks,
Simon

Hi Lucy
TB and myself will be passing around 6.30 and have rear seats
Call me 07944 641280 if needed
John
Hi John
Thank you - that'd be much appreciated. I'll give you a call tomorrow if I need it! Fingers crossed breakdown can sort me out but I'm not holding out much hope!
Lucy
Many thanks to Andy (and his able assisants) for an excellent night.
A good balanace of route and clues produced a very close result.
Interesting to note that first and second places were taken by cars almost 50 years old! Who needs a modern car eh?
Thanks Andy, Chris and all the others involved. We had a great run last night and enjoyed it very much. The clues were spot on, as was the timing and choice of roads. Brilliant.
Thanks again.

Here are the January Jaunt Results.
Thanks to Andy, Chris and all the marshals out last night. Enjoyable lanes with very little traffic found.
Well done to the overall and class winners, results are so tight nowadays.
Looking for a nav for the next one as Lucy is not available... any takers?
