Tendring (less than) 100km 24th feb 2017

The entries will open shortly.

All on a small section of 168 in NE Essex (and that does not mean approach Essex from the NE, you will get wet feet!)

I can promise lots of muddy lanes and codeboards to find.

Any offers of marshalling very much appreciated.

Cheers

Colin

12 car nav

Entry in, somehow I managed to enter twice, but I don't have a navigator. Anyone available?

Disaster

my mechanic collect the ginger Pug for some transmission work and in broad daylight ran into the back of someone. Cue new bonnet, spots, grille and light stays. Hopefully it'll be back in time for next week but if it isn't fear not, I'll get the Defender out.......

Novice/Beginner 12 Car Navigator Request

The Tendring 12 car on Friday 24th is short of entries so I have just entered as a driver. I am willing to take a complete beginner/newbie or novice navigator out on their first event.

More 12 car crews

Good offer Jim. If I can make it the 100+ miles to the start there must be someone closer to the start who can too :) My last CMC 12 Car was November 2010 and I've only done a couple of non CMC ones since, so it'll be good to be back in Essex.

Results

It is congratulations to Tony Burchnall  and John Conboy who triumphed tonight.

Only crew to get all the codeboards, putting our master crew in the shade.

Full results when I have got them to Tony Michael.

Thanks Colin

Thank you for an excellent 12-car tonight.

Everything was spot-on and I think it was one of the most enjoyable events JC and I have done. You found some lovely lanes and the mix was just right, as was the nav from what I was hearing from the other seat. From what I gathered at the finish ( which was also great and I wish them well with it ) everyone else was happy with it too and it's a shame numbers were down. The non-entrants missed a cracker.

Special thanks again to everyone who marshalled. All the controls were quick and precise and a credit to your efforts. Your team with Graham, Peter, Paul and Colin did a superb job. I hope some new faces seen tonight will realise the fun that can be had with these events and that they get a taste for the lanes. We quite enjoyed our 'off-piste' few minutes in Manningtree High Street where several of our lost minutes went and to say we were surprised to be the last crew called when you read the results would be a proper understatement!

Well done to everyone,

John and Tony.

Tendring 100 thanks

As above, big thanks to Colin and team and all the band of marshals for an excellent evening. I enjoyed the lanes and the atmosphere at the start/finish venue.

Also to Suze, for coming a long way to navigate in the absence of Lucy. I must be getting old as, apparently, we drove through 2 code boards but never saw them... Well done to John and Tony on a fine win, they're a crew on fire this season.

See you all in three weeks.

More Thanks to Colin and his team

Great event Colin.

Spike suffered the expected nausea , but came "on fire " with his road reading  towards the end. Most of the 4 fails were my fault with 3 on the first 2 sections which we plotted in the pub with 2 due to my not reading the final instructions diligently.

 Thanks.

Thanks Colin and the Marshalls

Thanks Colin you got this one just about right with just a couple of devious clues.

Just a shame about me forgetting those Blxxdy brackets meaning avoid.

Thanks

Mark

There were a few people who didn't read the instructions!!!. Those Blxxdy brackets were my moment of glory on the EAC (and Paul Brewertons worst nightmare!) a few years ago when I was one of only a few people who apparently knew what they meant and thus didn't get lost on teh final plot and bash section.

Blxxdy Brackets

Its not a case of not reading the instructions it is a case of forgetting what they mean. But I have a plan it involves taking Mike to a Tattoo parlor and getting them Tattooed on his forehead.

Congrats

Well done Colin and to your merry band of helpers.

An excellent event.  How did you manage to pack so much into a small area.  As usual, learnt something new what with your Route Card 4 "Go Green" offering.  Luckily we plotted the correct route by distance rather than the instruction and managed to bag the code board en route.   We weren't so lucky with the code board approaching the roundabout though.  It was the deciding factor to a creditable win for Tony and John.  Well done you two.

Please thank the landlord at the pub for the very welcome toasted cheese and pickle sandwiches.      A nice touch.

Once again thanks for an enjoyable evenings motorsport.

Graham and Jim

12 Car Thanks

Thanks from me to all the organisers and marshals last night. It's been years since I've done a Chelmsford 12 car so it was good to be back out again. Still rusty and one annoying mistake from my side missing a loop (and c/b) early on, but it could have been worse! We didn't get lost but driving past two codeboards (one at the roundabout and one on a long straight) was a little costly. But we had a laugh, so thanks Luis for the opportunity :) The low of the night was only finding out my junction of the M25 was shut....as I got there so 1am was a bit of a late return home!
