looking for around or less than £500 there are some about on EBay etc but before I buy just checking there's not an unwanted one lurking nearby.

Try Dave Cox on 07790749885, he my still have his spare one for sale, or it may have gone with the car. He is Stowmarket area.
You could also try Mike Bishop and/or Mike Helm for engines and/or leads.
My spare isn't spare yet,,
You do know that fitting a Sprint engine to an 1850 isn't quite a drop in job........
