After the success of last year (my first event as an organiser), I've now put the finishing touches to this years event and it's great to see we currently have 9-crews entered in a mix of classes.
Naturally it'd be brilliant to see if we can get another three cars out and can I reassure everyone that the navigation is straightforward with no tricks. As with all CMC 12-car events, beginner crews will get the full set of handouts at signing-on (so can get plotted in the pub before leaving) and novice crews get the entire route 15-mins before departure. Experts are naturally expected to do "proper" P&B...
I've built in a short transport section midway though the route; 2-miles which includes a fair bit of A-road. You'll have a very generous 10-minutes to complete this part and can recover any amount of time (no 3/4 rule applies) so crews can get back some lateness at that point.
Finally, the usual plea... MARSHALS!!! I really need as a minimum a couple more controls to be covered so if anyone is free for a few hours on the evening of Friday 28th I'd really appreciate some assistance. Let me or Tony Michael know if you're available.

I find myself with an entry in but the possibility of not being able to compete. MOT expires on 22nd but due to poor planning on my behalf and some miscommunication I've run out of time. Basically, I'm off to Spain tomorrow early and back on Saturday night, and back to work next week.
I won't be able to confirm until possibly the day before the event. If I don't have a suitable car (not using the Rav4 as it didn't work well the last time we did) I'm happy to marshal but, again, it will be at very short notice.
Luis
Luis - thanks for letting me know.
Have a good trip and let me know how things unfold once you're back.
Ian
Hi
I am just checking the start time is correct as it's quite late at 2021 for the first car away. I guess it could be to do with it still being daylight at 2000 but i just wanted to make sure.
Thanks Mark Rutter
Mark,
You've got it in one; just too much daylight at 20.00hrs!
Ian
Lucy and myself are now available to marshal if required. MOT should be sorted on Saturday ready for the Woodbridge targa. Shame but happy to use my new Motorsport UK tabard.
Final instructions for Friday will be provided later today/this evening...
Finals now available which include a couple of pre-plot locations (TTC5 and MTC11)...

A huge thank you to all competitors and officials for last night - I think you guys enjoyed the route!
And (to my knowledge) it's great that the event passed off without any incident or issues with residents or other road users. Thank-you.
Results breakdown.
Thanks to both of you for a great April Blossom.
It was pitched just right, the lanes were terrific and the whole thing thoroughly enjoyable. Well done!
Congratulations to Ben and Steve for an excellent performance again. Also, congratulations to Zoe and Nathan for getting the older generation around so well! It must be quite daunting to come across us lot ( who must seem to talk a different language much of the time ) and be dropped in the middle of nowhere with just a map to get you out. You both did a superb job and I hope you want to come back and do it again.
Thanks yet again to everyone who helped, either in route checking, scrutineering, course cars, results and particularly, marshalling. We are very lucky to have such capable, good humoured people who allow us to have our bit of fun. The same goes to everyone who has been a part each event of this year's Winter Series, including our fellow competitors.
Last night was a terrific end to a super season.
John and Tony.
Tim and I would also like to express our thanks to all on the organising team for a thoroughly enjoyable event. Our first season of competing over, we will be back in September for another crack.
To all who agreed to sponsor Tim on his forthcoming bike ride we wish to express our thanks. If anyone else wishes to sponsor him please let me know and I will send a link to the Just Giving page. This is a great charity so please donate.
Cheers
Simon and Tim
Congratulations to Tony Burchnall & John Conboy for winning the 2016/17 Winter Series. Full results are up on the website.
The awards will be presented the club's summer barbecue in July - full details available soon.
The 2017/18 Winter Series will commence in September.
Well done to Ben and Steve on a fine win, and Tony and John for securing the series win. A very deserved one... Great to see the new generation of navs doing well already.
We enjoyed out marshalling duties at TC9 and DSOing somewhere on the first half. As Ian said, everyone was very sensible at the SGW and driving through the little village. Enjoyed some of the lanes and the little ford getting to our locations.
Looking forward to the new season.
Many thanks to Ian and all who organised and assisted in the running of this event. Great that the two beginnners were so evenly matched.
Loved the lanes.
Alistair & Nathan
