The Annual BBQ and Winter Series Awards Night will have some changes this year.
A new BBQ has been constructed at the Generals Arms and I'm working on a new menu and details will follow on this site.
The first job is to get it in your diary and sort out who you are bringing , friends neighbours etc. Because we are expecting to go for some decent kebabs we must confirm numbers before the day and individual personal emails will be sent , as well as taking responses on this forum.
Non members and potential members are welcome and it will remain mostly free. I say mostly free as we may cap the club spend at £10 per head ( but may not!) or £40 per family . I'd like a feedback response as to whether you want a sweet , or whether we can concentrate the spend on the food.
As this event is essentially free I'd like to encourage people we dont often see marshalling on events, that come to the BBQ to make a commitment to helping out on either the Wethersfield Stages 28th August or CRS Targa in Norfolk on 24th September.
Call it bribery ? Why not - there is no such thing as a free lunch.

All current club members will receive an email shortly from Tony Michael inviting you to respond to the BBQ night at The Generals Arms on 20th July.
The club will pay for the food, comprising a Meat Kebab & either a Burger or Sausage. The new outside BBQ is not operated by the pub & we will pay the caterer direct. There will not be a dessert/sweet for afters this year but you can buy them from the pub.
We must have a name & number of attendees, by responding to the email you receive, by Monday am 17/07/17, so that the caterer can order the food. No response means no free BBQ. Guests do not have to be members but if the total numbers exceed 100, I may impose "compulsory marshalling" duties on members that rarely help out on CMC events!
All committee members seen by me last night do not have to respond to their email.

I have just noticed that I have won an award for the 12 car winter series. Unfortunately I am unable to collect it at the BBQ on Thursday as I will be on holiday. I hope you all have a lovely time and I will pick the award up at the first 12 car of the season or maybe Paul Brewerton could drop it off at my parents’ house just outside Sudbury.
