with the winter series 12 cars starting in September i am looking for a regular navigator. any level of experiance is ok you just need to be enthusiastic. post something here if you are interested
There are still a couple of spaces for entries for next Sunday's AMSC Regularity 12-car, starting near Ipswich
The route is completely pre-plot so the competitors only need to concentrate on timing. However, if you would like to do it as a navigation exercise as a newcomer this is an ideal chance. The first half is worked from a map and we will check before you start that you have the right route ( about 25 miles )
The second section is entirely from a Tulip roadbook which can be transferred easily to the map ( OS 156 ). This is also about 25 miles. You would visit all the controls as the competitors will and be timed like them. However, more importantly, you would have a chance to do real navigation and apply it to the road. The timing will be very slack.
The start is at Beacon Hill services at the A14/A140 junction near Needham Market ( opens 0900 ). The finish is at Saxtead Green near Framlingham at about 1300.
The previous Regularities on Sunday mornngs have been very sociable and good fun with plenty of time to talk rallying and get advice.
Post here or go to the AMSC website amsc.org.uk to get details and the entry form ( ideally by Friday )
Route is planned and entries will open this weekend for the opening event of the CMC 12 Car Winter Series, the Priestley Trophy 12 Car. Marshals and course cars will also be needed. Start and Finish in Chappel/Wakes Colne and all in Essex on 167 and 168.
Entries are coming in well, up to 8 and it's still August!
Pat Tierney is looking for a navigator. This is an excellent opportunity for an aspiring navigator to learn the ropes with a highly competent and competitive driver who has trained up a few navigators in his time!
We also need 5 more marshal crews to cover all the controls and make the event run smoothly.
I am going to do some navigation table top training at the club night in Sept
Come along and have ago

Starting to plan for Table top rally in Sept
Is there any particular type of Nav people want me to include
Hi
Route is planned and entries will open this weekend for the opening event of the CMC 12 Car Winter Series, the Priestley Trophy 12 Car. Marshals and course cars will also be needed. Start and Finish in Chappel/Wakes Colne and all in Essex on 167 and 168.
....for a couple of controls, or anything else that will help.
Colin.
Thanks Colin
MTC1 and course closer perhaps?
Paul
Yes that is fine. Put us both down for that.
Thanks to Colin & Ellen and Andy and Chris we now have a full complement of course cars, as well as the first and last controls manned.
We still need some more marshals so if you can spare a couple of hours on Friday 29th September your help will be much appreciated. Email me on
if you can help.
Paul

entry just paid via paypal. Simon Rowan and i will be teaming up for this one. could i suggest a prize forthe highest combined age of the crew
With the slowest time.............
Nav finished and sent out for checking
You will require sheet 167 Chelmsford, romer, pencils and large eraser
Some sort of lighting would be useful due to bad overhead lights
I would like some ideas of numbers so I can make sure I bring enough copies.
In addition is anyone wanting Targa nav training
Hi John,
Jane and I would like to be included in your table top training session on Thursdays Club Night.
Regards,
Graham Robinson
Thanks Graham. See you Thursday
Hi John
Could Beth Drake and Jim Drake Join your Table top on Thursday please
Hi Jim. You would be more than welcome
Hi! Hoping to make it on Thursday...up for a bit of plotting and/or happy to help if needed.
Thanks Lucy.
I would like to thank everyone for turning out last night
Close results but well done Graham and Jane
For the two ladies that did the event last night and not entered the next 12 car. WHY NOT
I explained to Heather, you will get a full marked map in an envelope at the start.
My advice is. Try the nav, then throw it in the back and open the envelope on just navigate the route
All controls are shown all you have to do is find the code boards.
You can do it , you will get lost but that is part of the fun, everyone else does
Thanks John for organising a fun evening.
Beth enjoyed the experience and is more confident about plotting now.
Congratulations to Graham and Jane for showing us how it should be done.
JIm and Beth Drake
Hi John,
Thanks for a very enjoyable evening. It knocked off a few cobwebs but they will probably all be back by next Friday. Sorry Jim.
Graham & Jane
