The second round of CMC's 2017-18 Winter Series will be held on Friday 20th October (a week earlier than orginally advertised) and will be based around our usual club night venue in Little Baddow with 45 miles on 167 & 168.
Entries are open and as usual I will need some marshals to man the ten controls in the Chelmsford / Kelvedon / Great Leighs area.
Paul, you may wish to change the title from Targa to 12 Car...?
Doing two things at once. Also helping out with the Bonfire Targa on 5th November, just waiting for the Motorsport UK Permit before launching the event.
Evening, do you need a closeing car?? Gary needs some map reading practice!!!!!!
Thanks for the offer Simon, I've got the closer sorted already but I can give you an early control and a marked up map of the route so that you can then drive it at your leisure.
Paul, put me down for a slice of that thankyou.
Paul, Ellen's best friend is getting married that day, but i think it is a pretty low-key affair with just cake and a glass of champagne afterwards. I will check, if it is as I think then I/we should be available to assist.
Colin.
Thanks to everyone for putting on the event last night and to Suze for navigating. A good evening.
The event is definitely on but we'd like a few more entries for the second round of the 2017/18 Winter Series.
Let's hope Ben gets a navigator.
If you need marshals I can help.
I'll send you some info - you can either sign on at the start (General's Arms) or en-route. All controls now covered but could do with a few more entries.
Sorry to be late to drop out - I cannot make Fridays 12 car.
Thanks as ever.
Thanks to all involved for tonight’s event. Good to be back out although rather sore so thought I may as well post whilst getting back to the all familiar ice packs!
Thanks Colin for assisting with our brain freeze and sorry Scott for being confused to see you...I had not highlighted the control clearly enough! Until next time.
Well done to all the crews for getting back to the finish last night - at least one crew had a more adventurous evening than I intended (seemingly trying to recce next year's event for me and proving that Terling ford is passable. Just. Thanks once again to the marshals, who outnumbered the competitors. Let's hope for a bigger entry on the next event, Colin Sutton's Mince Pie Suffolk 12 Car on Saturday 25th November.
A more detailed analysis will follow but here are the overall penalties as announced last night:
1st Steven Radley / Colin Wake (E) - 1F25m
2nd Michael Banks / Mark Rutter (E) - 2F08m
3rd Pat Tierney / Simon Rowan (B) - 5F04m
4th Ben Cutting / Suze Endean (N) - 7F17m
5th Richard Gormley / Ben Gormley (B) - 11F32m
6th Tony Burchnall / John Conboy (E) - lots of fails but not many minutes
Marshals:
I would also like to extend my thanks to all the marshals and the organising team. A great event only spoiled by my inability to navigate properly! See you on the next one.
Simon Rowan
Thanks to all involved; it was a super event all round. The roads were brilliant and suited the Spitfire perfectly, although I am glad I taped up the chassis and sill airflow holes beforehand. I thought it might be a bit wet out there, but not 6" wet....
Hi Paul,
Thanks to you and everyone else involved with last night.
We had about the most unexpected, eventful, hilarious evening's entertainment imaginable! The wheels completely fell off ( and if they really had it would have been just another minor inconvenience to cope with ).
Full congrats to Steve and Colin for the win, keeping the end up for the demure, gentlemanly approach. We who did it slightly differently will put it down as one to remember!
Tremendous, even if it may have been for all the wrong reasons!
John and Tony.
Hi everyone
When I was clearing up after our stint as course closer on Friday I noticed that one of our clocks was missing. If any marshals still have it please let me know.
Thanks
Paul
