Jan Jaunt 12-Car Fri 26th January 2018

The Jan Jaunt regs are now published and so far we have five entries - great! So if you want to compete (and sometime over the next few days you're sober enough!), then fill in the forms and get on the entry list.

We will be starting as usual from the Prince of Wales PH in Mountnessing, where you can enjoy a meal if you wish before proceedings commence. Also we will need more marshals so volunteers will be very welcome, please contact me at my email address shown in the regs. Many thanks to those who are on the marshals' list already.

Last but not least, have a good Christmas everyone, and have great motorsport in 2018!

Jan Jaunt

Looking forward to our first run on the Winter Series this season having marshalled at the Priestley and the Halloween, and having missed the Mince Pie due to Preston duties.

New car too, yet another MG...

It will be a busy month for Lucy and I; AMSC 20/20 this Saturday, CM duties at Brands Hatch on 20th and the Jan Jaunt the following Friday.

Happy New Year all!

Jan Jaunt Fri 26th January - marshals needed!

We have 3 places to fill for competitors, and we need marshals for 3 or 4 controls - please! If you can help txt me on 07851 135363. We appreciate that January is a busy month for CMC members, but if you can help us out it would be much appreciated. The whole route is contained within the M11, M25, A12 and the A1060 so if you live near Ongar or Fyfield you won't have far to go!

Jan Jaunt - urgent request

One of our marshals has had to drop out due to a family bereavement, so we urgently need another marshal so we get all controls manned. If you can help please txt me on 07851 135363, thank you. The control is located a mile or so from Roxwell, west of Chelmsford, and opens a few minutes after 8pm.

Thank you to the organisers and marshals for a great event.  Good roads, good navigation and a driver with plenty of red mist!  Congratulations to Lucy and Luis, first time out in their new car.

Enjoyable Jaunt

Thanks to all for a great cruise through the lanes, and  I promise to remember the Give Way rules in future, Jim ! Looking forward to the 'Not in Tendring' Tendring next month.

Congrats to Luis and Lucy, Rob and Zoe - I'm obviously missing something by not having a lady navigator ! !

Thanks

Thank you to everyone involved in making last night happen - we enjoyed the route and I found the plotting smooth - managing to do almost all on the move after having got the first 2 sections plotted on the village hall driveway to start us off. Luckily I'd managed to get it all plotted before my brain switched off and I started getting directions mixed up...the benefit of having a fantastic driver who can adapt to that!! (And who can also spot code board on LWRs when I wasn't expecting there to be any!!!)- thanks Luis.

I'm looking forward to the next one....this time as an expert.  :)

Thanks

Thanks to every one for a good night out - someone has to be last, but it was nice navigation and nice roads , though the navigator needs a good pep talk!

Jan Jaunt thanks

Thanks Andy, Chris and all helpers for a terrific route.

The driver always has the easiest job and with the navigation working for Lucy, I just had to enjoy the fantastic and almost traffic-free lanes. There's something about the January Jaunt, it was my first ever rally back in 2012 with Sofia, won it with Lucy in the Mini in 2015 and now again.

Looking forward to the (not near) Tendring 100th expert challenge

From Chris and me, thanks for all the kind comments, glad many of you enjoyed it, if not all! It's a pleasure to put on a 12-Car with an almost full entry list and then find the route meets with approval. All the lanes we used have been used on Jan Jaunts before, so nothing new, just the order and direction. The start and finish venue seems popular also so I guess we will continue as is for a couple more years at least. The Prince of Wales PH has got to be better than Stansted services on the M11.

I will put up the full results on Monday, in the mean time many thanks to the support crew eg Ben and Rich for putting out the boards, all the marshals especially Ellen and Colin for travelling down from far away in deepest E Anglia, also mentioning those marshals for whom this was a first time experience - you did a great job, so thank you again. And I must include Paul and Peter for doing scrutineering, TC1 and course closing. So grateful thanks to all marshals and officials, and of course all you competitors. Congrats to Lucy and Luis, you nearly nearly cleaned it!

Hi Andy, Chris.  Many thanks to you both and all the Marshals and Officials for another great night of Motorsport.  The results will show it was very tight at the top and congratulations to Luis and Lucy for a great result.

Hope to see you all next month.

Had a good run on Friday night; we did'nt do that well but the lanes were good and it was great fun driving them.  Many thanks to all involved in organising it.  Hope to see you all on the Tendring next month. Mike.

January Jaunt Results

Bottom line of Results should say: Car4 takes 2nd place on 'furthest cleanest' rule.

12-car club championship points !

Has there been a change in the rules for getting Club Championship points for 12-car Rally Driver & Navigator this year ? Whilst, being masters,  we do not qualify for awards (so no-one can accuse us of pot-hunting !! ) and Beginners and Novices have priority for entries, last year we did accumulate points for the respective club championships. But although we came 2nd overall on the January Jaunt we have not been given any points at all !  We do enter just for the fun of it (and perhaps to help fill the event and make a couple of ££s for CMC ) but it's still nice to see one's name in lights ...
