Entries are now open for the first evevnt of the CMC Winter Series of 12 car rallies. The event will take place on maps 168 and 155 and starts and finishes at the Shepherd, Langham.

As well as entries we would welcome offers of marshals and a course closing car.

Thanks

Thanks Paul and all for last night. Appreciate Paul being supportive of us entering with the proviso of “if Matt lands on time from Saudi Arabia we’ll be there....!” Seems we were not alone in missing an early board and a late miss was due to me not realising the nav worked in two ways so shortest route applied, so pleased I had (almost) all the route correct.

Definitely made us think and worth the 200 mile plus round trip, although the A12 closure was a bit of a pain on the way home!

Priestley thanks

Superb roads used, navigation worked well for Lucy, and I'm really enjoying the MG.

Thanks, Paul et al. for cheering me up after a tough week at work. First win as Experts, we're over the moon!

Thanks

Hi Paul,

Many thanks to you, Peter and all the marshals for a great way to open the 2018 - 2019 Winter Series. My navigation was a bit rusty so apologies to Jim for a couple of wrong slots.

Congratulations to Luis and Lacy on thier first win as Experts.

Thanks to all the crews.  It was a great turnout.  If we can keep it up that would be great.

Cheers,

Graham

Thanks :)

Thanks also from me....a much needed break for both of us to get our minds buried in rallying mode! Luis was great with managing twisty roads even when I'd lost which of the many significant bends we were now on!!  :D

Interesting routes which seemed quite tight time wise which kept us pushing on but still allowed for us accidentally checking out a couple of residential roads and a couple of other wrong slot calls by me!

Thanks to Paul and everyone involved in organising and the wonderful cheerful marshsls too  :)

Thanks

Thanks to Paul and all the other officials and marshals. Top route, challenging roads in places and timing which was spot on.

Well done to Suze for navving us round to take the class win. Well worth the 4.45am start on Friday morning in Jeddah to make it to the event.

Results

Thanks very much for all your kind comments, it makes all the difference to know one's efforts are appreciated. I would like to add my thanks to all the marshals, Chris and Andy for doing Course Closer and Peter for a fun drive in the Mini! South Suffolk does have some wonderful lanes, and I hope some of you will pay them another visit for Ben and Steve's 12 car next week.

Well done to Luis and Lucy on the win, and Rob and Zoe made good use of the extended pre-plot time for beginners. Make the most of it Zoe,you'll be a novice soon! I'm not sure how so many people missed PCA - 2 crews got it and so did the course closer.

Brilliant evening !

Thank you so much to the Brewertons and all the marshals for what was a brilliant evening. Although I live in Suffolk, I really need to get out more, as those lanes last night were a revelation. The navigation was a good test for Crow, and oiled the cogs in his head ready for the West Suffolk event next Saturday. Enjoyed thoroughly !

Great Time

Thanks from Steve and I for a good nights entertainment.

We plodded round trying not to break car just in case it was needed next weekend for a Club Triumph event (2000 miles in 48 hours round Britain)

Annoyed we mised a code board, but we were not alone.

Paul, exactly where was it? I had said to Steve we should have passed one to prove a loop, but saw nothing.

Then nothng on second section eather has us really worried!

Yep a great route!

Bruv may not be classified as a Master Navi in any of our r3sults but he has is a Master at route and clue definition.

Wel, done Bruv and thanks for making me get the Mini out in the lanes What a BLAST

Early board

Colin, if I recall correctly, the early board many of us missed was after the crossroads straight on (just after leaving the pub), and just before the next junction which was a T, think that was a number of green dots clue? I had a look at Paul's map last night.

First board

The first board was after the second junction, T left on the long run up to the waterworks to prove you didn't go left at the croosroads by the start pub. I must admit I didnt see it as I was looking down at the map but Peter called it. There was a board put out on the second section but it had either fallen down or been taken and we were almost at TC3 before we realised it wasn't there.

Thanks for a really good

Thanks for a really good event with some brilliant grass-hump lanes.  The poor old Spitfire could have done with some more ground clearance but just about escaped without damage.  We did most of the event without main beam, which failed early on.  Luckily the spots still worked so we could see where we were going 100yds ahead, but not right in front of us.  That first code board must have been invisible.....
