In just under three months, I'm tackling the London Marathon for Dementia Revolution! The original Clacton date worked well as I could do the marathon and Clacton, but unfortunately they now clash so I'll be in London whilst many are on the Essex coast.
I was not sure I would ever tackle a marathon again, but I feel I have unfinished business with London and I have the opportunity to enter for Dementia Revolution, which is a cause close to my heart, and is the official charity of the London Marathon.
As part of my training, I'm doing the London Landmarks Half Marathon (13.1 miles) at the end of March (no motorsport date clashes for me!) followed by the Virgin Money London Marathon (26.2 miles) at the end of April. I’ve also entered the Vitality 10km in London in May, so plenty to keep me busy and on my feet!
With dementia affecting both sides of my family, it's a cause close to my heart so all sponsorship is very welcome and appreciated. Dementia is a cruel and horrible disease, and Dementia Revolution is a collaboration between the Alzheimer’s Society and Alzheimer’s Research UK to raise funds and awareness as there are currently no effective treatments to slow, prevent or cure dementia.
I learnt a lot in 2018 by tackling the Marathon, and this year I started cross-training three times a week back in August (before I had a place!), and since January this year I have been training five times a week. It's amazing what you can fit in once you put your mind to it, but if there's any support you can offer, I'll hugely appreciate it please! It’s still not an easy challenge at all but one that’s definitely worth it.

£30 powers an hour of cutting edge microscopy, to uncover the causes of dementia.
£100 pays for essential flasks and kits, to keep experiments running.
£500 helps to fund state of the art brain scans to reveal clues to dementia.
£1000 pays for specialist chemicals, to understand what goes wrong in Alzheimer's and other dementias and how we can stop it.
Thanks in advance for all the support and many thanks to those who have sponsored me so far.
Many thanks to those who popped money in the pot at the club night last week, or have donated online. I'm pleased to share I finished the London Landmarks Half Marathon on Sunday with a new PB, so two events to go now!
More information is in the attached, and of course any support is very welcome via https://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/SuzeEndean

Whilst many club members were at Clacton this weekend, I was back on the streets of London and I'm pleased to say I finished the London Marathon 2019! Having completed two marathons now, yesterday will be my last but what an experience. I felt I had unfinished business with London after 2018 and with two close family members with Dementia, having the opportunity to complete the event for them was one I couldn't miss.
I've one event left, the Vitality 10km in May, but am still collecting money for Dementia Revolution and all support is hugely welcome. Many thanks to those who have supported me so far. https://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/SuzeEndean
