Michael Helm/Jim Bowie Expert & Rob/Zoe Russell Novice represented CMC on the inter club 12 car organised by Kings Lynn MC last Friday. It was a tough 80 mile route with 15 TC's & 24 Code Boards on bumpy fenland yellows near Wisbech. The navigation for both classes was very hard with Michael & Jim 3rd expert on 9 fails ( most due to cutting after a puncture) with Rob & Zoe 3rd novice 5 fails ( on slightly easier navigation) putting us as the 3rd team behind winners SCCON & 2nd KLDMC. John Peterson was 2nd expert representing SCCON. Ben Cutting/Steve Cumbers WSMC visited a dyke & retired but fortunately with no harm done.
John was in a class of his own winning the Autotest class at the Debden combined Autosolo/PCA/A'Test event. This was an AMSC event fronted by MCAC wih Dan Pearson C of C. A good few CMC marshals were in attendance including the ever present Dave Saint - also out on the Mercury 12 car.
If all the classes ran in the same event Adrian White PCA winner ( with Ellen as nav) would have been a strong 2nd o/a to Kevin Lockwood with John Peterson 3rd o/a.
Patrick Kane was 5th in Class B ( mostly MX5's) but set some very quick times with Anthony Slade a strong 6 th out of 12 i/c B. Lewis White took an Award for 2nd in the PCA class. Alistair Brown was 6th in Class A1 on his first ever Solo. Jon & Will Bray were unlucky to retire from Class A2 near the end of the day with a broken engine mount.
