So the JJJ took its toll on my gearbox.....
Apparently the S1 Rallye gearbox is a rare beast so i am looking for advice on the best replacement box.
My concern is the gear ratio's to get the. Best out of the car.
Any advice gratefully recieved.

Peugeot 106 Rallye gearbox
The gear ratios are the same as the xsi, series 1 and 2
And the 106 gti. Also saxo vts and VTR but the diff
Ratio is only found in the series 1 1300 106 rally. What's
The prob with your box ?
Ian
Hi Ian,
Thanks for the relply.
The gearbox is just noisey in every gear, it whines when she pulls and when she's engine braking, the greater the load the louder he whine.
She dosen't jump out of gear or anything se's just noisey.
My thoughts are that it could be the diff that's the problem.
Looking to get her ready for the Preston so i am trying to eliminate all weak links.
Do you know if it's much of a job to strip and investigate?
Paul
The diff bearings rarely give trouble to be honest. Not saying its not that though. The first motion shaft bearing (which I always fit a modified bearing in) is the weak bearing. There's two main bearings that go, if it doesn't jump out of gear your lucky as that's common. 1st and 2nd gear syncro hubs always wear and would advice changing while it's apart. I usually charge £120 plus parts for an Ma box.
Ian,
Thanks for the info.
Can you PM me to
so i can get in touch.
Many thanks
Paul
Uh-oh.
I too am starting to hear a slight whine. Also, crunching into 2nd and 3rd gear sometimes, and reverse. Synchros?
Will be coming your way prob after the Bullnose Mr Mep (106 guru-man).
