The regs and entry form for the Halloween 12 Car on 19th October are now published on the website. Entries on a first come first served basis. Marshals are also needed, and marshalling will get you 6 Winter Series points.
A little more info about our start/ finish venue. The Shoulder of Mutton has a website http://www.shepherdneame.co.uk/pubs/aldham/shoulder-mutton and a twitter account @FordhamShoulder. They are happy to provide meals for competitors, and to ensure prompt attention they recommend that you can choose from the menu online and pre-book your meal to be served as soon as you arrive.
Entries have started to roll in, I've driven the route again today and it all looks good.
Marshals please contact me on here, or phone 07702 113684 or email

Paul
hi Paul
please ad me to your list for your 12 car and i will do the paperwork asap. i intend to do it with Stuart Collett in my 306. we will probably do the rest of the series with a view to doing the Preston together in December. i think Stuart is still classified as a beginer but i will check with him when i send you the paperwork
Hi Paul,
Entry in the post today for Scott page and me.
Cheers
Paul Dumbill
Entry for Luis Diaz and Sofia Rodriguez, this time hopefully in the Mini, will be in the post tomorrow...
Hi Paul,
Will be posting entry for John and I later today.
Kevin
Entry for Mike & Darren, Dolly Sprint posted yesterday :-)
Could you please add myself and Andy Merchant to the entry list. Form posted this morning.
Chris
HI Chris
Got 12 entries already. I'll put you down as first reserve.
Paul
As you can see the Halloween 12 car has a full entry list and 3 reserves. If anyone, particularly the more experienced crews, would like to give up their place to a beginner that would be much appreciated. We will not be able to run more than 12 cars. Reserve crews are reminded that they get 6 championship points for marshalling, and any crew that marshals will be guaranteed a run in the next event. Anyone else that is able to come out and marshal please get in touch with me before I have to chase you!
Cheers
Paul
Paul, apologies but some logistical problems have surfaced with respect to my navigator. Rather than hang on to my entry and hope they get sorted out in time, I will withdraw and give a reserve team a chance!
I would be happy to marshall instead.
Rgds
Mike
Final instructions have been sent out by email to the addresses on the entry forms. If more than one address is given I have sent to the navigator.
Keith & Martin I do not have an email address, can you please post one on here.
Cheers

Paul
Paul, can you email my marshalling instructions please. Hope to be in good time but as I will be coming straight from work (again!) if delayed I will be on a flyer!
Cheers
Mike
Hi Mike
I have a full complement of TC marshals, so if you want a night off that's fine. Alternatively I can always use some Driving Standards observers. If you can come to the start either Paul Barrett or I can suggest some spots.
Cheers
Paul
ok, if I am able to make it I'll see you at the start. Can you hold my entry over to next month?
Looking like I'll not get away from Bradwell until gone 1930 tonight, so unlikey to get there in time. Hope everyone has a good one!
Thanks Mike.
It's gonna be a wet one. Lots of mud and puddles when I drove the route today. Ideal for those of you prepping for the Preston!
Cheers
Paul
Well done Paul, and many thanks for an excellent event despite the weather.
A very good, twisty route, and I have never seen so much water on the roads, certainly kept my attention. There were some very slippery bits, and as for the section with river running down the road, that seemed never ending. Water proofing for the Preston obviously proving to be OK after that, and the new rear beam improved the handling considerably.
The Expert navigation was spot on, quite time consuming, but made Ben work hard all night, although unfortunatly a minor miss plot gave us a fail, so 4th o/a wasnt too bad for the first time out together in many years.
Congratulations to all the competitors, everyone seemed to get round OK, and especially the marshals, not a very nice night for it, but as always a full compliment of manned controls.
Another round of big THANKS to Paul and all the team at the Halloween 12 rally.
It was a great route and I really enjoyed driving (floating) all those muddy lanes... 6 fails and a fair amount of minutes sounds quite decent to me but it seems that my standards are very low considering that the first Beginner only got 1 fail. Mind that we turn left when leaving TC1, doh!!!
It really scares me that eventually we'll have to move up to Novice class, how on earth do you do it!!!
One more thing, big apologies to whoever asked us for a rubber at the pub. Truth is that we didn't have a spare one but we may have sounded very rude (I blame Sofia for that one, she really panics too much!). SORRY!!
see you at the next one!
Luis and Sofia (car 2)
Detailed and final results have been sent to Tony for posting on the website. Just one small change brings Luis and Sofia up 1 place as I missed a couple of fails for Eddie and Adrian when they cut from TC7 to TC8.
Thanks for all the positive comments, it makes the effort worth while. A very big thanks from me to all the marshals for turning out on a filthy night, to Paul & Tony for signing on and course closer, and to Peter for a very entertaining drive round as course opener. First time we've ever driven up a waterfall !!
Paul
all except one crew made it back with tales of water, wrong slots and the missing code board(s).
The route was really great all the better for the weather preceeding the event.
Thanks to the marshalls for venturing out on a rough night.
I really enjoyed my drive as course opener - done completely blind (as always) Paul does the whole organisation on his own and on this event set himself a challenge to keep the event in Essex but right on the border with Suffolk - the outcome was a route that had it all.( and just the one permission from the Motorsport UK county officials).
Well done Bruv & thanks
Only my 4th 12 car navving, but I've driven loads and it was as challenging a route as any. Many thanks to Paul for the organisation and especially to all the marshals who braved horrible conditions to let us have our fun.
Disappointed that my ham-fistedness on the first section led us to retrace to find a board that wasn't there, but that'll teach me. Learned also that being persuaded by the driver that the road is wrong is not always the best thing (though I have done it a fair few times myself), and also that the acu-pressure wrist straps are not a foolproof way of avoiding mal de nav. But still enormous fun and looking forward to November already - though I have a birthday outing at Woodbridge to savour first.
Excellent event and brilliant roads Paul. I knew plenty of those roads having grown up around there, but was still caught out a fair bit as they look different in the dark and wet. Does the farmer at Fitzjohn's want some of his land back as I have it up between the diff and bodywork on the Spitfire, and that's after what got washed away going up the Star Stile rapids!
Many thanks to the marshals too on such a foul night.
