Thanks to all for their help, support and hard work from my side of things yesterday, and to all the marshals / officials / organisers for putting on a really good event.
As the Service Area Safety Officer I had the opportunity to look a the track action a few times, and follow the exciting battle at the top of the leaderboard by popping in to the results area to warm up!
Amongst my highlights were the flamboyant driving of Roger Tillotson in Subaru 25 ( the one that lost his bumper) & Vince Bristow in the black BMW. The fabulous noise off the pit wall as the cars went down it. Dean Thomas overtaking Royston Carey in the pits after the Clio had just set fastest times on 3 & 4. The sheer performance of the Renault 5 Turbo. The lights on the 306 Maxi on the last stage (where he wa 6th fastest in the wet -a 19 yr old on his 2nd event!) & finally the battle in Class A where we always have a large CMC presence with a new CMC member winner in the shape of Tony Capon in the Metro winning by just 4 seconds. I just hope the Motors TV programme can capture it all.
This was my first rally experience I didn't get to see much action as helped on the flying finish writing the times down my fingers had thawed out by stage 3! I must buy some better gloves. I enjoyed what I saw a great first experience .
Great Photos of the organisers & event back up from Steve Town on the twitter link
Lovely comments from competitors on British Rally Forum.
Hamish AND ANY OTHER NEW MEMBERS we have a club meeting / awards presentation this Thursday night in Little Baddow. make yourself known to any of the committee members.
Sorry, I'm a bit slow, but a massive thanks to all at CMC who braved the Arctic conditions and put in a tonne of hard work so we could have a fantastic day out. Great drive, Matt! :)

Yes, looking forward to it too - I know from speaking to Nick of Race TV they had a lot of footage to go through!
