We have tended to run these events informally as and when people need help.
The next club night is the day before the 12 car, so time is tight, and we should be able to do something to help.
Ed Scott may be able to help, and possibly Brian Jaggs.
I am away on business so can't help as I would have liked to.
If this doesn't work we may be able arrange an evening in Chelmsford earlier in the week - we have access to Chelmsford Rugby Club Tuesdays and Thursdays so I'm sure we can arrange something.
Does anyone else need a bit of training?
The deal is - you marshal on the X Part, or another event, and we'll help you!
We have trained quite a few navigators for 12 cars over the last 10 years, so there should be a few who could now help out and train new members.
I have normally been able to help, but at the moment I already have too many things on, work seems to be busier than ever and already struggling to find time to prepare for the XPart.
Standing on the finish at Brands definitely counts!
I'm sure there will be plenty of willing helpers at clubnight.
To complement the training that Ed posted above, the full help page has some other information including a training booklet that I wrote a few years ago and have updated recently:
Thanks Paul I hope to come down fir club night. Colin Wake came round and collected my entry fee and gave me some pointers which was very handy. I just need to get hold of a romer.
for road rallying events, including 12 car rallies, you need the Basic Roamer 5 if buying from the link Paul posted here. Maps used on all events are 1:50000 scale. Black on white. All doubts and questions are always answered by club members but when I started, only a year ago now, I found Phil from the Basic Roamer Company very friendly and helpful too...

I stood on the finish line writing the time down at Brands freezing my digits off hope that counts?

The guide in the help section of the web site is a good place to start, http://chelmsfordmc.co.uk/cmc/Misc/EUMSC_navrallyguide.pdf
Any of our regular Navigators able to help to guide a new member...
