The regs are now up so get those entry forms in the post. CMC 12-Cars have been very popular and this being the last event of the winter season I'm expecting the entry list to fill up quickly.
As always we will need marshals so if you feel like volunteering then please use the contact details on the entry form.
Andy & Chris
Entry posted this morning for the Spaniard and J.Conboy in the red Mini... Then i realised i could have saved the price of a stamp as you just live round the corner from me!
Colin S., are you taking the Mini out to play on this one? :)
Mini's most welcome! Sorry Guv... Us rallyists love corners.
Quiz time 2 - The April Blossom starts at 465009 and finishes at 513216. The rally route will be about 55 miles but what is the distance between the two map refs as the crow flies? An acquaintance called Pythagoras says you don't need a map to work it out. (He finished 2nd on the Rally of Greece 497BC, beaten by his old friend Hypotenusius who loved cutting corners on 90-rights. They went on to organise the Rally Prestonium which still runs to this day.)
Answers here in km corrected to 2 decimal places - be careful!
First correct answer will also get a bag of choccies but you will have to collect at the A/Bloss start.
Andy
I remember what Pythagoras said but I'll give someone else a chance... one for the navs out there!! ;-)
71.03 km
Well out!
Ellen and I are in the post. Luis- I doubt the Mini will get an airing, provided the Golf comes back from the Nurburgring unscathed after Easter.
And Andy, I make it 21.25km.
Colin.
how about 21.249
That's more like it, except it's not to 2 decimal places, but the chocs are yours.
Andy
OOPS, I DIDN'T SEE COLIN'S POST, HIS WAS THE FIRST CORRECT ANSWER SO THE PRIZE IS HIS.
I would like to have a go driving this time, anyone want to navigate for me?
Regards Vince.

Looks like we have 8 entries so far, 4 to go (plus 1 reserve maybe).
All entries are from CMC members except Dave Saunders car 6 who's from Club Triumph - welcome! I was a CT member many years ago and even did the Round Britain run. Fantastic driving around Scotland but a very tiring 3 days I seem to remember.
Andy
Evening Andy
It is good to come across another RBRRer.
Mike Bishop, Mike Helm, Darren, Steve and Dave are all veterans (well Dave has only done it once, the rest of us up to 6 times)
Yes 2000 miles in 48 hours is interesting, and you need to be good friends with your co-driver or it is a very long 48 hours indeed.
We still have to pursuade Mike and Mark to enter, though Mike has helped marshall a few times now.
You will have to tell us about it at the start.
Cheers
Colin
Still have 3 places to fill - Vince, do you have a nav yet?
We also need marshals for 3 controls, if you can help please get in touch. No need to attend start or finish necessarily, you can sign-on at the course car.
Thanks in advance,
Andy & Chris
Hi Andy & Chris,
I had sort of put the 12 car on the back burner to focus on the North Weald Sprint this weekend. Yes I would like to enter (as a driver), can you get me a navigator?
Vince needs a navigator to do the April Blossom 12-Car. If you fancy a run post here and we'll take it from there, or ring my mobile, details in the regs.
Andy
Hi Andy & Chris
If you still need marshals I'm available with my grandson William.

Andy

Thanks to you all for an enjoyable night. Good roads, good nav. John
thanks Andy, Chris and all marshals for an enjoyable night. It was a great route and John was spot on with the navigation, the little Mini went strong all night and we only dropped a couple of minutes!!
Looking forward to September now!
Thanks Andy, Chris and marshals. Another great route from you guys again, a nice mix of fast flowing stuff and some great little lanes. We enjoyed it very much - thanks again.
Another good event and some great driving roads. Very unfortunate that my navigator was taken ill and we had to retire after TC5. Particulary as we had got every code board up to that point.
Looking forward to the next one. Steve Radley (Grey Mk1 Triumph saloon)
Many thanks to Andy, Chris and all the marshals. Great to discover some new lanes on another great route. Great drive by Jim, shame about the navigator. White Cooper 'S'.
The results are published now, and we would like to thank all crews for competing and also many thanks to all the marshals.
2nd overall and 1st novice was in fact Michael Helm and Colin wake in the TR6, the awards will be in the post shortly. We can supply full results for analysis if anyone wants them, but perhaps suffice to say that the timing was very slack and most crews dropped less than 10 minutes overall. Eddie and Adrian won on furthest cleanest rule not dropping any time until TC7. Car 2 retired with 'mal de navigateur' unfortunately.
Marshals were:
Code Boards: Ed Scott & Rich Baker(?)
TC1 & Course Closing: Paul Brewerton & Peter Brewerton
TC2 & TC8: Bob Blows & Brian Jaggs
TC3: Sam Riley & Tom Merchant
TC4: Elizabeth & David Everitt
TC5: Gordon & William Millbank
TC6: Karen & Ben Scott
TC7: Tony Michael
Finally, grateful thanks to Neil and Gaye in Car 9 for the use of the start venue at Epping Golf Club - looks like a round there would be very enjoyable.
Andy and Chris.
