MGJ Brands - Competitor Bulletin - What does "in date" mean for overalls

In the competitor bulletin there is a line item that states:

- Please check your Overalls and Helmets are of the correct Specification and are in Date!!!

Concious that some of the Blue book content is ever more restictive, but I cannot find any reference to dates for helmets or overalls. All I can find is as follows:

- K9.1. Clean Flame-Resistant overalls, must be worn to cover from ankle to wrist to neck
- K9.1.2. Special Stage Rallies, Sprints and Hill Climbs: FIA 8856-2000 / FIA 1986 Standard

- K10.1. Crash helmets bearing an Motorsport UK approval sticker must be worn at all times during training, practice and competition.
- K10.3.1 Helmet Standards for INTERNATIONAL EVENTS & ALL Motorsport UK EVENTS: FIA 8860-2004 / FIA 8860-2010 / SNELL SA2010 / SNELL SA2005 / SNELL SA2000* / SNELL SA2010 / SNELL SAH2010 / SFI Foundation 31.1A, 31.2A / BS 6658 Type A/FR**. *May be withdrawn with effect from 01/01/15. **May be withdrawn with effect from 01/01/16

Can someone straigten me out regards the expectation? Thanks

Overall dating

Richard,

There are no date stamp requirements for overalls. As long as they are nomex and lablled with the standard then they are fine - as the ones you used last year will be; there are no changes from 2013.

Only belts and seats are time limited. Seats in particular are an issue this year as they now have a five year limit from year of manufacture - a substantial change from last year that impacts many cars.

The potential expiry of the helmet standard is not confirmed, and I suspect is unlikely - I've just been talking to a colleague in BSI who owns that standard and he doesn't think its going out of date that soon.
