Next CMC Targa is at Wethersfield, Sunday 13th July (see front page of website for regs...)
I'm intending to enter but have no one to sit with me as JC is away on holidays (again!), Lucy is doing some kind of orienteering activity somewhere and Jack is entering in his car with his usual navigator (I don't think he enjoyed navigating at Debden...)
Not fussed about experience, as long as you can signal with your hands (or know your left and right if you haven't got them!)
The car is the usual little Mini and it'll be my first time as an Expert (yes, really!), I see Duncan is in in the Fiat so it won't be the smallest cc'd engine.
I'm happy to navigate in exchange as long as I don't get blamed when/if anything goes wrong. Same applies when it's your turn ;-)
PM's welcome.
Thanks
I hope a willing victim comes forward for you Luis! If it was a few weekends later I would of been game myself and we could have shook down the Rover.
Luis
Having a look at the entry list there a re a few people in your situation - Justin Smith for example. Maybe you can team up as double drivers in 2 cars - quite a lot of people do that including the clerk of the course when he competes..
Hope you find someone one way or another.
Paul
I thought on that and have already sent Justin an email. Hopefully this will work out.
Thanks.
Luis I think Justins wife Mandy is gearing up for a co driving debut.
Adrian White may co drive for you, and not need you to sit with him ( he is a winner of course) as he's possibly got his own co driver.
I will alert Adrian by Text.
Hi Luis, are you still looking for a nav? I'd like to volunteer if you are, although I have no experience! We chatted very briefly at Ardleigh a couple of months ago at the 12 car, I'd come out to have a look at the event as I'm interested in getting involved as a driver, although that night i ended up marshalling one of the tcs with pat and Keith and julie lane...
Anyway, I can read a map but can't promise much more than that!!
Hi John
that sounds like the right attitude and be able to read a map is a skill that not everyone has (including me). Mind that targas are more about test diagrams, usually clear and easy to understand. Can you contact me via PM/email with some details so that I can amend my entry?
Thanks Jim and everyone for your help. Looking forward to Wethersfield, never been there.
Luis
Luis
Wethersfield is much nearer than Norfolk! and not much A12. Glad you got sorted out with nav!
Paul
the A12 in a Mini is not fun at all, plus I don't have very good memories from when I killed my first Mini... I love the drive to Debden, I always follow the B184, nice, windy and scenic!
I can find a good route to Wethersfield.
Just seen your PM, the plan is to bring the missus if her hand is all fixed but I see on the thread you might have a solution now :)
