I'm looking forward to Saturday - and I'm just marshalling.

Great to see such a healthy entry -I'm sure the competitiors are looking forward to the challenge with plenty of new venues to visit.

I'm sure the event could still appreciate more marshals . .contacts on this thread . . .and while I'm plugging for marshals I need lots more for the Motex Gymkhana on 11 th March, and the 12 car on 24th feb needs some too.

Thanks

I'm very much looking forward to the weekend! It feels like a very long time since the Preston. With such a strong entry in terms of numbers but also the calibre of the field, it should be a fantastic day and a great advertisement for both the ERRC and CMC. I think we're car 10 – come and say hi :)

Thanks. I do have loads of enthusiasm, waterproof hi-vis jacket and thermals ready... I still don't know where or what I'm doing! should I have received an email with marshal's finals or is it all at signing on at the start?

X Part Marshalling

Luis,

We had a few email issues in the last two weeks and some messages didn't get through (have a look in your junk mail box, just in case).

We'll try to get some more detailed information to you today.

But failing that please come along to the start in Bury St Edmunds around 8am on Saturday morning and we'll get you signed on and despatched to your control(s).

You can call our chief marshal, Samm Keeley on 07772 581624

Thanks for help - you will have a great day tomorrow.

thanks

can I just say big thanks to everyone involved in the XPart yesterday?
It was a very long, cold wet and muddy (thanks for that car 44 ;-) ) but I thoroughly enjoyed it. You have the ability of creating such a nice and friendly atmosphere and make everyone feel very welcome.

Well done to the winners and those that made it, or not, to the finish... it was tough!

XPart comments

Congratulations to the winners (peerless performance Dale) , the organisers , to ALL all the finishers and a big pat to "my boy" David Lobb for another cracking result on a really tough and challenging event.

It was exceptionally cold and windy out there for the whole day so bravo to all of the marshals. Debs Dumbill & I had a few problems chipping the finish clock at Lavenham 2 - so apologies to any one who had to query their downloaded time - and well done Tony M for any corrections needed from the checksheet.

I'm surprised how few comments there are from other competitors and marshals today - must be hungover, asleep or cleaning their cars. There are a few posts on mandh but I have not checked the BRF yet.

I'm surprised Derek Rodgers was well down the list. I'd assumed from the test finish time we gave him at Wadgells Wood that he'd set the quickest time . . .but he wasn't.

XPart rally, a big thank you !

From a first time competator a big thank you to the organisers and marshalls for a 'top notch event'.

I found both competetors and organisers very friendly and helpfull giving advice on how to get the best out of the event.
Many lessons learnt and usefull information gathered for next time.

A special thanks to the marshalls on Lackford Resevoir 1 and Lackford Heath 1 who helped us after getting bogged down in the ruts.

Reward offered for the safe return of a front inner wheel arch lining for a Peugeot 106 Rallye ;] !

Once again guys, a big thank you

Paul Dumbill driver (Car 50).

THANK YOU

A MASSIVE thank you to Jamie, Bob, Tony, Samm, Ian, Geoff, Chris and all the rest of the fabulous organising team, the wonderful marshals, scrutineers, landowners and everyone who made yesterday possible. SHATTERED, my voice is suffering but I (and I hope we, David?!) LOVED it. It was a privilege to be sat alongside David, he put in an awesome drive, quick, consistent, neat, brave and sensible. It felt great from the word go and we didn't look back. So pleased with 5th o/a and top CMC crew :)

I loved having Daddy marshalling and getting to see us 'on it', so thank you for your support – and also to the other daddy, Geoff, for your car prep, car help, support, encouragement, snacks and for the car!

More of the same in 2013, please!

From a new viewpoint for me, the drivers seat of the course closer, I was very impressed with the route (except Castle Camps which was a car breaker again this year) and the cheerful efficiency of all the marshals, even those at Wratting 2 who were VERY wet by the time we got there. I was also very impressed with the radio system which kept all the officials informed of what was going on - thanks Ken.
Thanks to the other Paul for putting up with my amateur efforts behind the wheel - we did get round without needing a tow though! I have even more respect for the top drivers who make going fast on the rough stuff look easy!
I had a great time and congratulations to all the finishers and commiserations to those who had to retire.

A HUGE thank you

I would like to say a HUGE HUGE thank you too all the marshals that came out on Saturday. This event simply couldn't of run without you ladies and gents.
As my first time as being chief marshal I simply had no idea of just how much work goes into these events.
Lots of things I have learnt that I can improve on for next year.
Once again a big thank you too all the marshals. Well done Jamie and bob for a cracking event. Also congratulations to dale on the win, a truely superb win it was too!
Now time to catch up on some sleep....

Thank you from car 22

Just to add to the thanks - a huge thank you also from Car 22 (the purple Rover).

We started quickly, lost ground with a couple of punctures, but then lost the gearbox in the middle of the biggest comeback since Frank Sinatra's 10th retirement.

We came to a shuddering, smoky halt near the end of Selectif 13 (first selectif after lunch), and extra special thanks to the marshal at the last split, who not only pulled us out of the selectif but also took us all the way to the nearest pub to wait for the breakdown lorry. What a star, I'm sorry we never got his name to thank him properly...

Well done to all the marshals for sticking to their guns in the wet and wind, and well done to all the organising team for their efforts. Loved every second and already looking forward to coming back next year.

Thanks from car 40

Another massive thank you to the organisers, marshals and landowners from us in car 40.

This was my first proper motor sport competition (prior to this event, I'd done three 12-cars) and it was utterly terrific! 3 corners into SS1 I had a massive grin on my face, and that grin set stayed there all day (or at least until we got to Castle Camps ... ).

Big thanks to whoever pushed us out after we went straight on at cone J in SS13 too! Pete was going well up until then

Castle Camps caught us out the second time through, but that is the sport. We fell into that enormous crater on the middle road first time round, so went left-of-crater second time round, only to find a concrete bar and a rock! It'd have been nice to have finished my first event, but short of driving through there like Miss Daisy, you've got to take the risks.

I have the bug now, can't wait for the Bustard - just hope we won't be busted on the Bustard!

X-Part

Sounds like I missed another great day out, but unfortunately due to family commitments, work and Nikolas to re-build I'm going to be unavailable until at least the summer. :-(

It would of been great to see what Owen had knocked together in the mini, was it a standard sprite with a roll cage or is there some hidden magic under there somewhere?

Hope to catch up with you all soon.

Darryl.

Think we worked out who you were!

And if we did, you were one of the smiliest (is that a word?!) marshals about! Thank you for coming out.
