MSA Club of the Year 2012 - Chelmsford Motor Club Recognised

For the third time in three nominations spread over five years Chelmsford Motor Club has been recognised as one of the best motor clubs in the country in the Motorsport UK Club of the Year awards.

The Motorsport UK committee has judged awarded us 3rd place (of 750 registered clubs) in recognition of the successful work that we are doing developing motorsport in East Anglia and the South East of England.

In 2007 we were also 3rd place and in 2009 we won the competition outright.

Since the 2009 award CMC has expanded from 270 to 400 members and now runs four National B Stage Rallies, three National B Road Rallies (X Part, East Anglian Classic & Preston), has migrated its successful gymkhanas into the new Targa format (even in advance of the 2013 rules) and has a hotly contested 12 car championship.

Recent development activities have included a Go Motorsport evening, National Motorsport week promotions and building strong links with other AEMC clubs, notably West Suffolk and Eastern Counties.

The club has invested heavily in radios, stage equipment and timing equipment and, of course, rewards its marshals on every event.

The Motorsport UK award includes £250 for club funds.
