Having purchased the white Rover 25 for course car duties and possibly the odd targa, the purple Rover is surplus to requirements. It was built in 2006/7 by Colin and Kevin Smith to a similar spec to the Rover Centre cars. Safety Devices cage, welded in rear strut brace, alloy sump guard, standard uprated suspension, Cobra Monaco seats, Sabelt 4 inch 4 point harnesses, Brantz 2+, all included. Standard Rover 1400 engine and box. I think the ECU has been chipped but I cannot confirm this. Adjustable front strut brace. Seats and belts are in good condition for road rallying but out of date for stage rallying. It currently is sitting on standard 14 inch road tyres on alloys but I have a selection of knobbly tyres suitable for The Preston, your choice of which will be included with 14 inch alloys. It also comes with a spare gearbox which is Ok but has noisy final drive bearings.
Since we have owned it the car has done the Britvic as a competitor, and has run as course car on the Xpart and twice (or is it 3 times - I forget) course car for The Preston and East Anglian Classic and 12 car course car for the last couple of seasons. It has an MOT till Feb 2016 and is currently on a SORN.
Bad points - the usual rally dents and scratches, and sometimes when cold it doesn't idle, but this always cures itself once it warms up.
I'm looking for £1500 ovno for a Preston-Ready well-sorted Endurance car with the bonus of a stage log book.
