CSMA NEL February 12 Car Rally Appeal

Hi all,

I am organisinging the CSMA NEL 12 Car Rally on Friday 5th February 2016 and I am desperate for entries.  I had hoped to have some entry forms at last Fridays January Jaunt but left them at home in the rush to get out.

I have been trying to run this event for the last 2 years but due to insufficient entries, both times the event has been cancelled.  I am hoping that with the help of Chelmsford MC crews, the event can run this year.  The event Starts/Finishes at the Rose and Crown PH at Tewin MR 166/272148 and takes in approximately 50 miles of Hertfordshires highways and byways.  The navigation is a bit different to CMC events but I will make concessiosns for CMC crews that make the trip.  If this is your first CSMA event, Experts can opt for the Novice Navigation, Novices will recieve the complete route at the start and any Beginner Crew can opt for the novice navigation 30 mins before their due time or recieve a marked up map of the complete route.

If you do decide to enter, it will give you an insight to the type of navigation I will be using on the March Hare 12 Car on the 18th March 2016.  I hope some of you will be interested enough to give the CSMA NEL 12 Car Rally on the 5th of February a try.

If you would like to enter, please eMail me at

for an entry form or let me know via the forum.

Regards,

Graham Robinson

Hi all,

Like most events, the closing date for entries is usually the Friday before the event.  In this instantance, the closing date is Friday 29th January 2016.  If you would like to enter can you please let me know ASAP.  At the moment the event is in jeopardy but a few entries from Chelmsford crews could mean it runs.  Don't forget, Beginners have the choice of Novice Navigation to pre plot or a marked map.

Your support would be very much appreciated.

Hi John,

Many thanks for your support.  No problem with payment on the night.  I will leave it to you to decide whether you want to be CSMA Novice/CMC Novice.  Don't worry, if the event goes ahead, I will have both types of navigation for you.  Main problem is attracting enough entries to make the event viable.  So far, with yours, I have 4 confirmed entries.  It doesn't look good.   Nevertheless, I remain positive.

Cheers,

Graham

Hi all,

Thanks for the the entries from John C/Tony and Antons Kuzenko/Stuart.  In total that makes 5 so only one to go to reach my minimum of 6.  It will be Antons 1st 12 Car and I think it should be a good introduction.  CSMA Beginners receive a maked map with the whole route.  Their phylosophy is to help beginners get round the route and get used to following the route on a map.

So if any of the 4 Beginner crews or any other crews for that matter, from last Fridays January Jaunt would like a run out on Friday 5th Feb contact me ASAP.  As already mentioned, Beginners can have the choice of the CSMA marked map or CMC pre-plots.

Regards,

Graham

CSMA NEL February 12 Car Rally Result

Hi all

Many thanks to the 4 CMC crews (Pat/Stuart, Tony,Kelly, Tony/John, Amtons/Janis) who ventured over to darkest Hertfordshire for the CSMA February 12 Car Rally.  I am pleased to say it was the best supported CSMA 12 car for many years with 11 entries.

Pat/Stuart justified thier promotion to CMC Experts with a creditable 1st O/A, 1st Novice victory.  Stuart took advantage of the CSMA use of navigation in envelopes as practice for the forthcoming Tendring 100, so watch out you CMC Experts.  Tony/John took 2nd O/A with Tony/Kelly and Antons/Janis 3rd & 4th respectively on their first attempt at a 12 Car.

Thanks again to you all for supporting the event and hopefully it will encourage more CMC crews to make the trip for more CSMA 12 Cars which coinsidently is on Friday 4th March.  You can find it on the CMC events list.

Cheers

Graham

Hi Graham, Thanks for the invite and for putting on a quality event. We were all made to feel welcome.

The nav was inline with Chelmsford events as was the time sheets etc, so easy to follow.

Hopefully we can tempt more crews in the future

CSMA 12-car thanks

Hi Graham,

Many thanks to you and CSMA for making us all so welcome last night and for giving us such an enjoyable, well managed and nicely paced event. The lanes were great and even better that I was expecting and all your marshals really 'on it'. It was a pleasure to do and well worth the trip to be part of it.

Thanks to everyone for a superb job.

John and Tony.
