Great event with excellent organisation paperwork & test layouts.  Different in many ways to our Targas. 90 starters all single driven ( with reserves) 72 finishers.

Essentially a "slowed down" forest stage drivers rally, using gravel farm tracks with hills and "drops" - but not rough. Great for a well set up Escort ( a 1.6 Ford Anglia would have won but for a 30 sec line fault) but a really competitive "drivers" event. David was very nervous but we really enjoyed the challenge.

Long road mileage but worth it to access the tests.   We missed the very first code board ( CB's only used on one of the 14 tests) as it was 6 inches behind the CB board and not one metre as "briefed" but cest la vie . The 30 sec penalty lost us 4 places overall, but plenty of crews had penalties so it all comes around . We were best under 1400 - the most popular car  BMW 318 . Just one MX5 but very well driven by car Novice car 66 to 5th or 6th o/a.   Jim
