I will be asking Tony to post the regs and open the entries at the weekend after the Jan Jaunt is all done and dusted.
Away from Tendring this year so as not to get in the way of bigger and (argueably) better event planned for Tendring a few weeks later,
Start will be just west of Ipswich at Barham.
Cheers
Colin
Ellen and I will be available for anything we can do to help, it is nice and close for us this time.
Ellen / Colin
Thankyou for the offer, I would liek to say I planned it near home for you so that you could assist easily... :-)
I will be taking you up on it, probably 2 controls.
Cheers
Colin
the entry form says "entries now closed" but there aren’t any! They maybe a glitch me thinks as we would like to enter. Simon
Thanks, date adjusted...
Hi
I would love to help to Marshall that evening.
Scott
Thankyou for your offer Scott.
Can you pm me some contact details for yourself.
It will be 1 or possibly 2 controls near Ipswich.
Cheers
Colin
If anyone is in need of an occupant for the LH seat then I’m available. Might be fun maybe to show a novice/beginner what’s it's all about?
Ian Graham 07885 783536
Hopefully someone will take Ian up on his kind offer.
If you know anyone else who might want to enter, still plenty of space left!!
Colin
Has anyone taken Ian up on his offer?
Still plenty of space left if you want a run out.
Still available for LH seat duties if required by anyone.
Ian Graham (07885 783536)
When will the finals be sent out? Simon
within the hour!
Emailled them to Tony 10 minutes ago to put on the website.
Cheers Colin
Here are the Finals:
For sportmanship and to avoid hassle on the day, someone may need to check that entry list!!
Don't worry, Luis, it was spotted - we're not Masters for nothing ! !
I forgot the recent successes of two of the teams, that is what happens when I rush things... :-)
Will be corrected for tomorrow don't worry.
great observation skills, George. Not that I expected any less from you...
I have own insurance, Colin, but the car is an MG. Just in case any paperwork needs updating as well.
Looking forward to tomorrow evening, just hoping the A12 is not too bad with traffic.
Thank you to the organising team and the marshals who braved the cold. It was a great rally with some navigation that I had to really think about and I added at least an extra 5 miles added to our route!
Really, really enjoyed the 'Not near Tendring Tendring' . The navigation made Crow go really quiet several times, which meant I was 'on my own' often - with the predictable results of random places being visited ! Some lovely little roads, an unexpected ford - what better way to spend a Friday night ? Thank you to the organisers and marshals - it was great.
George & Crow
Hi Colin,
Many thanks to you, the officials and all the marshals for another enjoyable evenings rallying. Some interesting variations in the navigation that will be stored away for the next time. Good roads for Jim to enjoy even though some of them weren't the right ones.
Cheers,
Graham
Hi Colin,
We know to expect something different from you whenever you put a route out. 3D plotting on an OS map was just inspired!
Congratulations on a brilliant evening. Thanks as always to everyone who helped and stood out for us. The mix was great and it always surprises me how many good lanes there are even close to major towns.
It was really good to have JC back; I hope there aren't any after-effects this morning after rattling him around for a couple of hours.
Excellent,
Tony.
Congratulations to Mark and Steve for a slow (1 min to OTL at last TC) but accurate drive giving them the win.
I will get the full results to Tony Michael in a couple of days.
And glad you liked "The Channel" at Flowton George, that ford always creates a lovely splash!
it's a big thumbs up from me too.
Yes, we missed TC7 as we got caught by Colin's tricks. We knew there was something in that clue but we couldn't see at the time a possible way of doing it.
As teachers, this is usually the most stressful time of the year and I don't think Lucy was being her usual cheerful self. Still, a great way to end the working week and, from a driver point of view, most enjoyable.
Thanks Colin and all helpers and marshals.
See you on the March Hare, Lucy is not available so, I believe, Suze Endean is jumping in...
Thank you to Colin and the marshals for last night’s 12 car. The start was a bit shaky due to me getting the 3 maps in a bit of a muddle but we must have driven the right route as we didn't miss any code boards. Section 3 I miss plotted the control so we headed off down the wrong road for a mile before I spotted my error. A few junction over shots here and there plus a little bit of head scratching on the GGG GGG but we kept finding code boards. I quickly worked out the 2 identical grid-refs and knowing Colin as I do I knew he could not resist using the road where control 7 was located. The 3 green dots did cause a bit of an issue which caused us to miss a code board but we were not the only team to make this error.
Both Steve and I did not expect to win so it came as a complete surprise which is always the best way to win.
Thanks Mark
Thanks to all the organisers and fellow crews for Friday....I was indeed really struggling with workload pressures so not my usual self but grateful to be able to escape into the rallying world for a couple of hours....thanks Luis!!!!! Brain didn't pick up on the 2nd GR but have stored it in the memory for future - clever idea. :) Sorry I can't make the next one (school trip) but looking forward to venturing out again sometime soon. Thanks all. :)
Results are now here:

Driving an alternative route to work this morning I passed a lonely looking CMC codeboard on the roadside and assume it is leftover from this event as it's too far away from tonights 12 car - unless it's a really long route!
I can pick it up next time I pass if it doesn't have a reason to be there. It's near Little Bealings, East of Ipswich. Exact details can be given if it's not required for something.
