Jan Jaunt 12-Car 10th January 2020

The Jan Jaunt 12-Car is a couple of weeks earlier than previous years, so the regs will be published soon after the Mince Pie 12-Car. Many of us will be busy with The Preston then it's Christmas and New Year so we thought we would give competitors and marshals plenty of time to get organised for the new year before the Dec hi-jinks begin!

Please see Tony's post about the requirement for all competitors to have the new RS Clubman licence for 2020. These will be inspected at signing-on. You can apply for this new licence from 18th November and there is no charge. You will also need a club membership card for 2020.

Jan Jaunt 12-Car, Marshals please!

The Jan Jaunt 12-Car needs marshals - every event does! We know a January evening is not everyone's idea for fun parked down some remote lane somewhere. But your motor club needs you, or to be more precise we do!  If you are able to help on Friday 10th Jan then please contact the chief marshal, details in the regs. The route starts and finishes in Mountnessing just off the A12, and is mostly to the west of Writtle/Chelmsford. Car 1 leaves at 1942hrs. Can't guarantee the weather but if you bring a flask, we'll supply the choccy, promise. Thanks in advance!

Pat, I didn't arranged

Pat, I didn't arranged anything with any of my 3 usual drivers as yet, so if you fancy allowing me to get you lost, I need a bit of practise!

Just need a lighter socket for the potti.

Expert class.

Cheers

Jan Jaunt needs marshals!

Help! We still need to organise 7 marshals (or more) so we can run the 12-car in eight days time! You do not have to come to the start or finish, just turn up at the control location at the right time. The route starts and finishes in Mountnessing, keeps to the west of Chelmsford, north of the A12, well east of the M11 and mostly south of the A1060. So it's not far to go! If you can help out please text me on 07851 135363. We have a full entry list so your time will not be wasted, and your help will be very much appreciated!

Thanks in advance. Andy

Marshalls urgently needed!

Andy

Steve Radley may be available to marshall, he will know if he has a Friday night driving shift by the end of Wednesday.

He just says don't make it too far from the pub as he is terrible at reading maps!

Cheers

January Jaunt

Hi Andy,  many thanks to you, the officials and the marshals for another evening of great Motorsport.  Well done Luis on your first and I believe, last run in the left hand seat.

Many thanks to Andy, Chris

Many thanks to Andy, Chris and everyone involved in last night's 12 Car. I enjoyed it and Lucy did a great job in the left hand seat. Some good lanes and a good way to start the weekend.

January Jaunt thanks

As above, thanks Andy and Chris, and all marshals and helpers for most interesting night.

Navigating wasn't the original plan but that's how it all happened in the end. Years of sitting with Lucy, plus encouraging words from others, was certainly helpful. A superb drive by Mike, who I need to thank for his patience and understanding.

We used the full 60 minutes of pre-plotting without a break but and we managed to go the correct route bar before TC7 where the 'approach 4th junction from N' caught us... I managed to read the map and not get lost. Doing all of this and come home with a 2nd o/a was a surprise.

A great and enjoyable experience but not something that I think I could do again... Hats off to all you navigators, what a sadistic hobby to choose!

It should all be back to normal at the February Fling. Our entry is in.

I picked a blue clipboard which was left at the pub, it had an envelope with Julie and Nick's new clubcard! It's safe at home, if you require it urgently I can post it to you.

More thanks

After a long wait on the A12 and a late start (thanks very much) for the oppurtunity to run late. We enjoyed it very much....... once I got the 'navigators side organised' - about TC4!! and we will take firsts (and last) novice anytime.

uis thanks for picking up the clipboard - bring it to the Feb event

Jan Jaunt results etc

Hi Everyone,

Thanks to everyone for Fri night - competitors and marshals alike! Some of you had traffic problems arriving so thanks for not giving up. It was getting rather chilly for the marshals, some of you did 2 controls and others were marshalling for the first time I believe, so special thanks for all your support. Not forgetting the boards crew, course closers and our DSO marshal - no infringements recorded so thank you competitors for keeping things clean.
